Maned Wolf [m:hmene]

Love these gentle giant beasts at first sight. To me they look like evolved hyenas. Apparently wolves, foxes, hyenas, dingoes and other canid species are only distant relatives to Maned Wolves. They are near threatened and endangered depending on the region. Habitat destruction and highways are the main threat to these beautiful creatures. Please be aware and spread knowledge & care.
