🥕 - What do you think about the current theme trends?
not rly sure what counts as trends nowadays, bc for the most part i think there's been a lot of diversification and personal style choices woven into ppl's graphics in a way that was so different from before, when we were all just sort of figuring it out -- learning first how to color within the lines (i.e. follow certain trends and templates) before coloring outside of it i guess. so, i don't really see much same-ness anymore the way it used to be ?? everyone back then kinda sorta had the sameish look -- black and white psds with some color overlay, same themes, not too many unique visual motifs ... and now i think it's pretty different !! idk i'm just so happy to see anyone do what makes them happy, creating graphics that really tell beautiful visual stories along with their own writing !!
me, personally, i think it's obvious that i love graphics that are colorful... if it suits the character! my graphics are quite different here than what i've made on phillip, for example, but i still gravitate most to graphics across the rpc have strong colors. LIKE YOURS, SOL !!! im so obsesssssed with your palette for johnny.
i'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to motion graphics tbh. clearly i can't get enough of it and am in a big experimentation phase when it comes to that hehe.
i love graphics that are typography forward, treating letters as visual elements to play with the same way you would an icon to paste into the design.
i love maximalism but not cluttercore without clear visual hierachy i guess ?? to me the most appealing types of composition comes where there's plenty for the eye to see and be stimulated by, sure, clearly minimalism is my thing ... but at least one strong image your eye will naturally rest on and balance against the smaller elements. idk you know the stuff abt visual weight and all that -- same principles for drawing.
i loooooooove especially little post borders / badges but i don't think i'm the best at making them in a way that appeals to me so i don't have any. :( i'm determine to get better at that !!!
for post formatting i'm just not a fan of too many colors or caps in the para because it really jumbles everything in my brain when i read. idk how to explain it or if there's a word for it. :'(
all lowercase for threads is something i think is rly popular lately. it looks sooooo pleasing to me in how uniform it makes everything look. it appeals to me SO much, but for some reason when i try to write my own threads with all lowercase it changes how i read my own writing ?? it doesn't effect me for others, though -- in fact i love it !! i'm trying to understand what the discrepancy is between that and me and how i read my own writing ...
one thing that never really appealed to me for my personal use, for some reason, is icons. i tried it before and it just never felt right and i don't think there's so much deep thinking to this other than it not being a good fit for me i guess. i LOOOOOVE seeing other ppl's icons though !!
