After months of writing, planning, and ranting to her mother, Mabel held a Women's suffrage protest in front of the local library. With Amelia by her side, no patron went inside without hearing what she had to say.
Amelia had been struggling balancing her ambitious nature and her duty to be a mother and wife. With her children mostly grown up now, she had the time to pour herself into the cause.

Lillian spent the day with the Bowden family. Mabel was happy to get to know her future sister-in-law, and looked up to her already! Lily was so poised and beautiful, and had such a warm presence. Mabel couldn't wait to spend more time with her.
Amelia and Roger were abuzz with conversations about wedding plans, and the growth of their family. Roger had made quite a bit of money at work to give to the new young couple.

Mabel's favorite of her birthday gifts was a brand new typewriter. She would spend much of her time outside of school practicing her writing.
Once she got the handle on it, Mabel set to work immediately on writing pamphlets to pass around at school. The subject of women's suffrage was a topic she thought important to spread to her classmates. Her grandmother, however, was not amused.
In any case, Ben had picked up illustration and decided to help his sister by adding drawings to her manifestos.
