Filming has commenced on Mo Ghrá Buan – Macalla’s second feature film under TG4’s Cine4 scheme, jointly funded by Screen Ireland, TG4 and BAI, with a budget of €1.2 million.

Mo Ghrá Buan is written by and directed by Rachel Moriarty and Peter Murphy, and produced by Cúán Mac Conghail for Macalla.

Ok so while we’re at it, here are my current Villainous OCs (probs gonna end up making more : , )   )

Dr Plague:

Status: Active

Age: Yeah we don’t know S/O: TBD

Abilities: Immune to every infectious disease

Backstory: http://aminoapps.com/page/villainous-4971691/3892026/my-ocs Weapons: A staff/mace, a gun that shoots infected bullets, his 21 pet ravens (they’re all vectors of various viruses, diseases etc.) Random facts: Likes pasties, HATES the word “moist”, used to work for Black Hat before he retired, will get 100% emotional if a child calls him “dad” or something of the sort

Macalla:

Status: Villain-in-training/sidekick

Age: 12

S/O: TBD

Abilities: Echolocation, disease immunity as well, flight

Backstory: http://aminoapps.com/page/villainous-4971691/3892026/my-ocs Weapons: Attachable wing blades, a speaker that disorientates enemies with a blast of various frequencies, her fangs which can then infect enemies with the rabies virus (she’s also a vector) Random Facts: always wanted to see a rainbow, loves to eat fried moths and Yucatan morcilla, was originally going to be an artificially made superhero (until the dear Doctor came along and raided the lab and the “newborn” specimen)

Outside Time

Seemingly timeless voices echo, a music that bewitches and stops the very sense of time passing.

I found this cassette in an abandoned house very close to where I took the red thread photo. If there was to be a soundtrack to this project, I could see this slowed down version of 'Harry's Game' (1983) by Clannad, that I made, being part it. This is one of those songs that whenever I unexpectedly hear it, always sends me right back to the eternal now of my childhood. While ‘Harry’s Game’ itself does not appear on Macalla (1985), I love the cover by Jill Furmanovsky. Even how it is cropped here does not take away its mysterious power.
