Guys I can't shut up about Phantom ever so here's something that came to me today.

As many of you may know, in my heart Phantom was not really doing so well before being summoned by the ministry. He arrives looking kind of like a stray that's been running the streets for a while, but has known love long ago and wants so bad to believe he can have it again. He's pretty underweight, maybe has a persistent cough, fur and horns and claws dull and unkempt, shy... Certainly not thriving.

All of the ghouls play their parts in helping him heal, of course. Today, I was thinking about Mountain!

I think our big, sweetie pie of an earth ghoul takes Phantom for walks. Just around the grounds, through the gardens and forest paths. At first, Phantom gets tired pretty easily, so Mountain takes it slow. They meander and mosey and dawdle, stopping almost every few steps those first days so Mountain could point out something new to Phantom. There's a lot to see and learn about life topside, after all!

He shows him flowers and talks about when they bloom, and what critters like to visit them. They listen to birdsong, and Mountain identifies them for Phantom and teaches him ways to remember their calls. They turn over rocks, pet moss, smell herbs, and generally just soak in the beauty around them.

Once Phantom is comfortable going longer distances, they start taking the forest paths. Mountain introduces him to all kinds of edible plants! They stop to taste berries, nuts, flowers, roots, shoots... Mountain knows these plants by heart, and he's delighted to feed Phantom from the bounty. Phantom opens up so quickly to Mountain, and is so eager to learn and try new things. He doesn't always like them, but he trusts Mountain enough to give it a go anyway.

Before long, they switch roles a bit. Where before, Mountain spent the most time talking and guiding, Phantom quickly becomes a chatterbox of questions and observations. One day, he gets so excited to show Mountain a little puddle with bug larvae that he found, he grabs him by the hand and drags him along. After that, Phantom insists on holding hands through all of their walks.

Yeah, I just think Mountain sees that skinny, scared little quint and decides he's gonna give him gentle, restorative time outside, and I think he's so right for that.

So its finally outdoor seed planting season in Zone 5. I motivated to get outside today and got a variety of Sunflowers, Amaranth, Poppy, and Hollyhock seeds planted. I looked it up, and all 3 wildflowers compliment each other so I did a little seed mash and got to planting!

I also got some Lavender plants transferred today AND...I saw this idea on tiktok, you take the 3$ bag of 15 Bean Soup and you plant the beans directly into the ground and harvest later.

I was super excited to get a half a bag planted today! I had an old raised bed and just tossed them in. Hope it works out!

You guys should really try outdoor phone time. tried it yesterday and it's awesome because you get the benefits of being outside (vitamin d i think, less pale, warm) but its also phone time (reasonable activity in The Routine) so its not scary

Sunday 26th Jan

I think I'm starting to feel better.. touch wood. Forced myself out to Rocky Horror at the theatre last night since my mam has had it booked for months and Matt and his brother were also going so it would've been weird if I didn't. We had a great time and it was so good to get out of the house, even if I did start my period just as we were on our way out the door 🫩 Didn't dare go out in my Magenta outfit with flu so I improvised what I called ✨️Riff Raff Chic✨️ so I could be warm. I also wore my long padded coat most of the day.

Woke up this morning feeling fucking dreadful, period was sooooo heavy 🤢 had a hot bath to start the day, lemsip for breakfast then a 2 hour nap on the couch lol. Matt went out for a walk with his family which I happily missed, forced myself to eat some fruit bc I've been eating like shit all week. Took myself out for a walk to get some fresh air in peace, I went down to the woods where we don't walk Maggie any more. I forgot how sketchy the walk is to get there, I have to go off the main path down a little track that looks like it goes nowhere and then through some shady af allotments, but the woods at the end are lovely. I had a nice time until I remembered I had to walk another 30 mins home and was already tired.

Was freezing when I got home, got straight back into my pyjamas with a cup of tea. Had early baths and Matt's homemade biryani for dinner 😍 My head has been pounding all night but planning to go back to work tomorrow.

First time doing a full outfit layout like this! Def pinterest inspired also this time I drew my own makeup look for today <333 which was rlly rlly fun and turned out more pretty than I expected. Going to the library today to get some air n I always treat myself whenever I'm out to help me feel better 🥺 it's been a draining week..I'm tired of everything and everyone.
