Two whiskies aged in same make casks by the same distillery! This provides a unique insight into what age does to whisky. Both the #macallans have similar profiles. Both have fruity sweetness and vanilla shinning through. The #macallan12 has hint of smoke and spice. On the #macallan18 the spice comes on much stronger and the finish is undoubtedly longer on the 18 with toffee and ginger mixing beautifully. Which one is better? In all honesty it really comes down to your palate. But there is no doubt the 18 is far more complex and the finish really does stand out here.
