"Then there shall be no hard feelings about your not-a-resignation," Nezu decrees. "I truly did not wish to rush you into a decision, however our time is limited, and regrettably, your replacement has not yet descended from the heavens." "What if it has?" Nezu looks up at him, eyes gleaming. "Oh?" "You may have heard of him," he says. "Does the name Midoriya Izuku ring a bell?"

Aizawa tries to resign. Nezu is, as always, eight steps ahead of him.

"I received an inquiry this morning," Nezu says. "Does the name Hatsuzaki Tatsuo mean anything to you?" He thinks for a moment, but it doesn't ring a bell. "I don't think so." "I see," Nezu says. And then he waits until Shouta has a mouthful of piping hot tea before he continues— "it's none other than Eri-chan's grandfather."

Nezu throws a curveball. Aizawa decides to take a swing.

It’s Kaminari who spots him first, announcing his arrival to the rest of the class with a dramatic “SENSEIIIIIIIIIII!” He doesn’t even bother to drop the knife he’s been using to chop carrots before making a beeline towards the genkan. He flares erasure. “No. Running. With Knives.” The kid is sixteen years old, produced an unfathomable amount of power to run the floating deathtrap, and still needs to be told this. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

In which Aizawa is finally reunited with the rest of his wayward children.
