It had seemed that they were in the mall for hours and knowing Rin, they just might have been. Gou had invited Rin to some fancy party. The thing was, Rin hated going to parties like this and he wanted to bring someone along. Clearly that someone would be his boyfriend.

“Ok, I think I have to perfect outfit.” Rin handed Haru the clothes in his hands. “I swear this is the last outfit. Try this on and let me see how you look.” Rin must have had Haru tried on at least 10 different outfits. The thing was they all looked too good. I was bad enough that Rin knew at some point the clothes he got Haru would be on the floor, but he didn’t need anyone checking Haru out. Especially in a suit. “Haru you done changing?”

Haru wasn't moving and Nagisa was doing his best to swallow the panic again as his frantic, round eyes scanned Haru's face, pristine and pale and beautiful. And dead? No, not dead. Nagisa picked up his senpai's wrist and felt for a pulse, trying to control his shaking hands. At first, nothing- and then, as if by miracle, he felt it; a tiny jump beneath Haru's skin, the skip of a heartbeat, a gentle flutter. With renewed vigor, Nagisa (who was mentally praising the summers he'd spent life guarding at the ISC and the CPR training he'd been required to take) pinched Haru's nose shut and used his thumb to pull his chin down and open his mouth. Then, he took a deep breath. Breathe. He pulsed Haru's chest. Breathe. Again, Breathe...

Rin had been arguing with Haru over where they should go for their week off. Most times they would be able to agree on something with no problem, but they were both being stubborn about what they wanted. Haru wanted to go to some mackerel festive. How one excite was still a mystery to Rin. Rin wanted something more romantic and relaxing. He wanted to go to a hot spring, but Haru wouldn’t give up. Rin started yelling about how stubborn Haru was being when the other male crushed his lips against his. Rin wanted to enjoy the kiss, but he pulled away and looked at Haru with a smirk. “Are you trying to win by riling me up?”

It had been several months since Rin last saw Haru. He did a much better job of keeping in touch than the last time he was in Australia; Skype, letters, even the occasional phone call all to keep himself actually connected to his friend instead of pulling himself apart. Of course, there was a big difference when one was face-to-face, and Rin was excited to come home. Rin liked Australia, but for him it was just a place for training, a place that helped him grow. It wasn’t home, and ultimately it was never going to be a place he’d permanently stay.

Rin didn’t tell anyone that he was coming home, not wanting anyone to make a big deal of seeing him at the airport, but also so he could surprise each of his friends individually. It sounded fun to Rin, and he was always the type to pop in and out unannounced anyway.

Standing at the door of Haru’s new apartment, Rin waited with a grin as the door finally opened. “Surprise!”

‘’W-What do you think?’’ Rin slightly blushed as he looked away. ‘’D-Do you really have to ask me that? Urgh. Explaining is so troublesome.’’ He mumbled in himself.‘’I thought she told you,’’ Rin let out a deep sigh. ‘’Gou’s getting married. You even got an invitation.’’ The redhead rolled his eyes.
