Macros (for the very first time)
I finally ripped the band aid off and recorded my macros. It feels pretty vulnerable to actually sit down and enter in your food, especially if you haven't before. It is so easy to turn a blind eye when eating less than ideal food, but it's so hard to be honest, write it down, and have it stare you back in the face.
For the next week or two, I'm just going to be recording what I normally eat, for better or for worse (thought I'm sure I will be making little adjustments just because), and get a baseline of what my regular nutrition is like. Without judgement... But, I'm here to be transparent with what I'm doing, so here we go!
I am actually relieved to say that it wasn't too bad! In fact, it was kinda fun to scan the labels and just click "Log." And, to my great surprise, I did pretty good reaching my macros. I went over a bit with fat and carbs; but, ironically, I struggled to get enough protein, which I did not expect. I had to buff up my nighttime casein shake to get close. Granted, 247 g of protein is a lot (and that number will make sense once I finally share my measurements).
Overall, this feels so much more doable than I imagined! This actually has made my weight-loss goal seem closer.
So, yeah, I'm feeling good!
