thank you! we appreciate the intention of the compliment, and we're happy to hear our chara is a personal favorite of yours. however...  "simp" reminds me of something i haven't had the chance to mention. this isn't targeted, but serves as a relevant jumping off point. 

did you know simp is widely accepted to be an acronym?

at the very least, this is how it’s being used. even when it's used in self-depreciating ways, the reason it's considered funny is because of the implication that men aren't supposed to be equal to women. the insult, in essence, is that supposedly inferior women are getting one over on men by not servicing them sexually. as a result, women are the real targets here in more than one way: 1.) women are reduced to genitals/sexual access and 2.) men behaving in a way deemed “too feminine” is an insult because women are considered inferior.

just like with many other popular misogynistic terms, simp (and “simping”) has taken off and people all over use it as a joke. when something is so popular it’s hard to question it. however, no matter which gender is saying it, the fact is that it’s harmful and regressive.

i don’t blame anyone for saying it without thinking critically about it. after all, it's saturated the internet. but now that i've pointed out the above, i would like people to ask themselves whether they want to be associated with this kind of sentiment.

i can’t stress enough that this isn’t targeted towards you, madamrabbit, or anyone specifically for that matter. the sentiment is well appreciated! what it comes down to is that i’ve noticed this term being used more and more without a second thought and it’s best to mention it while it’s relevant.
