Why I create TIZZBERG (1)
I feel loneness, so I have my paras.
I still feel loneness, though, because I only have my paras.
So why couldn’t we interact with others by pretending to be our paras? Then I could talk about my paracosm, share my life, explore others’ worlds, and engage with other people’s paras.
Like every solitary paracosm finally could be connected together. We are not ALONE. We have each other.
do any of you other madders out there have this problem where you’re like, “did I actually do ‘the thing™️’ or did I daydream doing ‘the thing™️’.”

this literally happens to me all the time with everything 😫
Ever try to write while in your paracosm? I just did and deleted it twice. FULL ESSAYS... gone because I re-read them and they were trash 😂
Honestly, one of the biggest issues of maladaptive daydreaming recovery, is learning to be present. I could never. Once I was hooked onto the prospect of an alternate reality, I was never going back. this has been the case for years and years. I’d stop myself in parties and imagine what things would be like if I had a bf next to me. or if I had someone to flirt with, won’t that be niceeee... whoops I'm in a daydream. Or I’d imagine how my characters, who were often cooler and more attractive than me, would react.
It’s really difficult to escape, and I hope there are people out here who get it. It’s okay if being present isn’t for you.
Here i go, finally snapping and creating a MaDD sideblog. I decided that i cannot do it on my own and want to join the community :) Please, like/rb/dm if you post about madd and/or want to be friends 🌼 (I'll follow back from @/un-ree-me)
A little introduction below
I started daydreaming when I was four, but it wasn’t until middle school that it really started to get in the way of my real life. I wasn’t too worried. I mean, maybe I wasn’t focusing on my school as well as I could be, but I wasn’t doing anything really bad. It was at that point that Jesus informed me that though technically my daydreams were good, I was making them the ruler of my life, which was His job. And He wanted His spot back.
So I gave it back. Bit by bit. At first I thought I was going to need to stop daydreaming altogether, but that isn’t what He wanted. In it’s proper place, my daydreaming is a good thing. But getting it into that place didn’t happen all at once. Rerouting your life like that takes at least a couple years and divine intervention. I don’t think I would have done it just for my own mental health. I was having too much fun. It took someone outside of me that I cared about enough to change for, but also someone who could see my insides and understand what I needed. Which is a pretty tall order.
A while later a guy at church heard my story and told me he thought I had a paracosm. I looked up the word and eventually discovered the madd community. It was an incredible experience. Suddenly I wasn’t alone! There really are other people, a lot of other people, who pace around and think about stories for fun!! I really hadn’t just been crazy this whole time! Still, sometimes when I scroll through the tags, I can’t shake the eerie feeling...I’m an immersive daydreamer, but man I was this close to being madd.
being older than the age u originally imagined ur parame to be is so fucking wild
