Future Self (2012) is a collaborative production between the Brits behind rAndom International, an inspiring interactive design company, and choreographer Wayne McGregor. The resulting work is a beautiful and melancholic rendering of self-discovery and a meditation on identity. The installation incorporates aluminium, custom electronic, Metrilus 3D cameras, LEDs, and brass rods - it is a responsive 'living' sculpture that reacts to the choreography of the two bodies that sculpt light with their gestures. Captivating and mesmerising, Future Self capture a glimmering illuminated presence. The work was staged at MADE in Berlin with support from Absolut Vodka, who continue to present incredible art projects as part of their branding initiative.

Whoa. This brief documentary showcases a Berlin creative space called Made and a project created there by Ebon Heath (featuring one of my favorites Talib Kweli). Ebon’s work is nice but I was really blown away by the space itself.

Creators Tadirock, Nico Zeh, and Phil Gaedicke built a modular space with a unique lighting system they invented that enables artists to customize their work environment. The result is quite remarkable and I’d love to see more about the space itself.
