My friends, neighbors, patients, and even sworn enemies,
As I am certain each an every one of you are aware, fanfiction--particularly of the Doctor Who flavor--is a major focus of mine.
Every once in a while I like to highlight a fic that I believe will get much less attention than it deserves due to the fact that it *lacks a ship.* However, that, I believe, in no way makes it less in quality. The story might be phenomenal, the world-building immaculate, the characters meticulously rendered and yet because it lack romance, we forget it.
Well, today I have the immense pleasure of not only highlighting an excellent story but again drawing your attention once again to @gallifreyrises and her new fic "The Mordee Expedition."
Do you like AI's gone awry? How about a newborn 4th Doctor? How about the Doctor treating their body like an invulnerable meatsuit? A crashed ship and a couple of thousand people in dire peril? If you have said yes to any of these, then look no further.
I can confirm, there is a certain Star Trek-esque flavor to this straightfoward piece as well that was quite enjoyable. It is straightforward... it is not simple.
