I think I joked at least once in the past (if I didn’t post it here, know I thought it in my head!) about if there wasn’t a Maeve cameo in the final season, that they should do an Elena cameo instead, and do the really stupid heavy handed “we couldn’t get Dominique” thing of Annie calling Maeve but Elena picks up and answers her own version of what Maeve would've said then like says something about going to talk to maeve off screen like “she’s totally here out of frame she just can’t come to the phone right now”. Or if they wanna get really insane show the back of her in one shot and it’s just some other actor in the same wig. Like a purposefully ridiculous situation just to show “we wanted to but she wouldn’t do it” lol.

Or just anything with Elena because you know Nicola would take that call!!!

random take but yknow how everyone has that one genre of tv that’s their guilty pleasure? elena’s is drama shows, mostly in the medical and law field (law & order, chicago med). she might dabble into other stuff, but i can’t think of anything specific.

as for maeve? documentaries. ranging from david attenborough talking about penguins to youtube videos of people explaining the life of the universe. space, history, nature. you name it.

not to say she pays attention, but it can’t hurt as a background show.

sorry but can you just think about this woman. for a minute. I feel like so many people just watch the show and they're like okay whatever she's the designated love interest she's so boring and like how dumb is it that she is annoyed at maeve being closeted but then also annoyed when maeve is out... nah. nah. let me stop you there. just think about elena for a few moments, just put yourself in her shoes, and appreciate it

think about how much this woman loves maeve. think about it. think about her being with maeve for years at the start, before the seven. and how it must've become harder and harder over time with the increasing fame, and keeping that secret. think about elena never telling anyone, ANYONE, about maeve, for over a decade, such that it was still a big shock when she was outed by homelander. lying to her friends, her family... even after they broke up. think about elena watching maeve seemingly move on with the most perfect Supe man in the world in the most publicized, inescapable relationship ever, and not once giving in to what would be an incredibly understandable temptation to spill the beans in an angry rant at any point.

no, but the bar isn't just "didn't do a bad thing to her ex". elena is so much more than that. think about how long... HOW LONG she is in the trenches for maeve. she meets Maeve in her twenties. she falls fast and hard. she KNOWS that maeve is the Love of her Life, with two capital Ls. and that is why she tries so hard. despite all the ways it is plainly obvious that it will not Work long term. the fact that Maeve is increasingly paranoid about being outed, while her increasing fame makes that ever harder to avoid. the fact that it's just plain hard to carry on a relationship with her becoming busier and more and more owned by Vought. But Elena sticks it out as long as she can, she tries so hard because she does not want to lose Maeve, even if it is patently obvious that trying to keep her is immensely painful.

that's not even getting into how. long. she. waits. 10+ years on by the time of season 2 elena is there. ready. waiting. she didn't ever update her emergency contact!!! she takes maeve back wholeheartedly at the slightest bit of give. even being told that homelander might feel compelled to murder her if he finds out they're together, elena is IN. and even after seeing the fucking flight 37 video, she's not even thinking that's a dealbreaker. she just needs time to process it. and yknow what? another year later? she has processed and she is STILL WAITING! FOR MAEVE!!

Elena is the greatest lover there has ever been even in the ways that she falters... no, especially in those ways. most importantly, she is the best at eating pussy in the ENTIRE WORLD.

ok so ive finished reading tmdoms some weeks ago and something that has been on my mind since is that scene where elena takes temp v yk…….. like im genuinely not the type of person that loves reading smut in long fics but that scene specifically was the first time in my life where i actually really wanted to read a smut scene and not really cause they were fucking and im a horny freak but more because i really wanted to read more about the shift in their dynamic with elena holding more power and control over maeve….like, it has been discussed before the way maeve has to “hold back” with elena because she’s human and all of that and i really feel like it would be so interesting to explore more how this affects them, not just in sex but like in other aspect of their dynamic as well (though what made me keep thinking about all of this initially was wanting to see what happened after ‘“Stop. Don’t just stand there and take it,” she spat.’ and ‘“I want to feel what it’s like when you don’t hold back.”’ LIKE YEAH MAEVE SHOW US)

im not saying this as a request or anything like it so please dont feel like im demanding you to write about it or whatever i just want to express how much i love your fic and how often im still thinking about it and mourning it because its over and i miss all of them….like, i cant move on from the boys but theres not much more fics about the characters im interested in so im just constantly thinking non stop about the show and about your fic….(but really i loved it (i think i’ve already said that too many times in your ao3 comment section

first off: thanks so much for sending this - it's always nice to hear kind words, but more to the point, it's incredible as a writer to hear reactions, what certain parts of my stories make you think or feel, so thank you for sharing!

re: requests or request-adjacent comments - don't feel bad; always welcome. even a flat out request is ok so long as it's understood that I might not fulfill it. but sometimes hearing what someone is interested in does inspire an idea I want to write, and it's kind of nice/flattering regardless :)

re: smut. I don't write it much anymore... there was a time in 2020 where I wrote a lot, idk what got into me, I think it was largely that I was writing for a fandom where smut was very popular (as in many, lol) and i wanted my fics to be popular... I have nothing against it but I generally prefer like, the sexy setup and "fade to black" as I did in the scene you mention, because that's where like 80% of the interest for me lies in sex scenes, while the actual play-by-play of who puts what body part where tends to feel awkward to write and harder to make actually, like, compelling. so that's largely why there's none of that in tmdoms.

BUT. I have good news...

this right here is basically what the fic I'm currently working on is about. it comes at it from a different angle... it's a prequel to TMDOMS, post-s3 but before the fic starts, exploring their dynamic while maeve is powerless.

that's what I'm trying to finish at the moment (it's been in my head for agesssssss, need to actually shape it properly though). so hopefully that might appeal?

I will say though that you now have me thinking more about what that temp v sex scene would've been like. no promises obviously, but it'll go around in my noggin, we'll see what happens... (this reminds me that I think i was planning a oneshot back when s3 was airing of elena on temp v + maeve = sex, I can't find it now, I don't think i got all that far in writing it, maybe I just deleted what I had written bc I repurposed it into TMDOMS, but one thing I do remember, was that my original concept for what power elena would get from Temp V was invisibility. going for what would be meaningful/ironic, since one of the biggest pain points for her was having to stay "invisible" while being with Maeve... lol. but I think what I came up with in TMDOMS is better, even if more boring on the surface. some lines i write i just feel like "WHOA, that's a great line", and i love it enough that I kinda force the scene around it... and one of those lines is: "That makes sense... the Supe you hate the most is me.")
