Havent updated in a WHILE but I had my second root canal appointment the other week and naturally spent it listening to TMA, and I finally got round to formatting my notes, so here they are! Theyre a bit short bc i was somewhat preoccupied and had to write parts from memory dhsgagag

Underground

- Stuck on the underground with a dead phone and no music… the real horror

- Deciding to just sit there and chill because she cant do anything anyway is a moooood lol

- Ohhh… the train is being smushed and ‘eaten’ by the earth…

- Fascinated by the fact she got out. AND that she still takes the tube. I wonder if she was ‘released’ for some reason? Maybe because she wasnt scared of dying?

- Aw, Jon’s worried about Sasha bc she takes the tube to work <3

- Somethings living down in the tunnels?? My instinct is to say Sasha, but actually she’s been seen to leave so maybe not. Hmmm. I doubt Michael or any of the other things need to eat, though. Maybe its one of the workers- or Elias- something related to them not being able to leave. Or Jon’s fully losing it and leaving stuff behind and forgetting about it?

- I actually agree with his point about cannibilism being wrong more because of the murder than the concept, lol. I wouldnt eat human meat because I’m a picky eater but i think conceptually its not. Idk. As immoral. Its just A Thing.

- More meat, and the regeneration, are both fascinating, but I can’t quite figure out what it means. Maybe whatever thing wants the meat allows the regeneration in order to have a permanant meat source?

- Shadow people… like the way the creatures are sometimes shadows (like with Graham)? Is Rayner turning people in the cult INTO these creatures??? Or just somehow their thing with absorbing light gets so far that they end up becoming shadows??

- Interesting. I do NOT think its the last chapter on Rayner. I also dont think its the end of the tapes, though I’m not sure how John would get them now- but they feel too relevant to end.

- Jon thinking that someone tipped them off and it wasnt Rayner or any of the cops there… HMM. Maybe someone at the institute, but they dont seem overly friendly with cops.

- I figured i was supposed to recognise natalie ennis’ name so i did some digging and yes, she’s mentioned in the first episode that brings up the cult (mag025) as the roommate who gets sucked in. Interesting.

mag072 and 172 are probably the only ones that really gave me the heebie-jeebies, specifically because of the f o o t t r a u m a uuuurrrrghhh

that said, i’ve listened to 172 a few times just because it was...really good and really interesting, and very visually evocative for me. even if jon and martin’s interactions left me pretty damn anxious.
