I need you all the read the book series the Millennial Mage by J. L. Mullins

Book 1 the Mageling follows mage Tala fresh out of school and figuring out how to keep herself afloat. She immediately jumps into a pretty dangerous job of traveling between the haven cities through the arcaneous wilds. Along the way she is forcibly adopted by several mages and has some lucky breaks.

I'm only halfway through the first book but it's got my full attention!

J.L. Mullins has funded his book writing through a patreon and debuts new chapters for free online, he's on his fourth book in the series, I will totally continue updating with my thoughts

This book deserves to get traction in the scifi/fantasy book realm

Oh, I just want to write my chapter and the vampire AU, but yet I am trapped under a Mageling who wants to watch Beauty and the Beast. Dang it. 😂

My favorite memeable picture I got of Mageling one night while I played CoD with my squad. She was just wiggling while being fascinated by the light, but it made her look terrified by it.

I just have to say how much I love my gaming family. They were all excited up to her birth and now that she's been here and she sometimes makes noise and fusses when we get in matches, they don't get upset or anything with us. They've gone as far as to dub her "little coach" and attempt to talk to her or even sing to her through our headsets. They dedicate our wins and good decisions to her and they apologize to her when we do poorly. And our group keeps growing and immediately accepting her as a member.

This is what it means by it takes a village and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. 😊

How is the mageling? I hope you are all doing well!! ❤

Aww, thank you for asking, Idrelle! Mageling is doing well. We had a bumpy couple of days - we learned she had a posterior tongue tie, so we had that taken care of and it made her sore the next day, so she wasn't nursing well and was spitting up literally everything she was eating. But we were able to give her a little medicine just a couple times and she's feeling much, much better now! She loves her rocker and headbanging on my chest (just one of her hunger cues; instead of just turning her head side to side, she's already strong enough to hold her head up for several seconds at a time, but sometimes she loses it and just thumps back down onto me. Hence, headbanging xD). Also, she loves making duck faces and posing with her hands.

The pups love her and have to check on her if they've been separated for any amount of time. They also take turns making sure at least one of them is close to her, usually while she's napping. They get highly concerned at diaper changing time because we have to lift her higher where they can't see her and it makes them upset. They enjoy sniffing her and giving the tiniest kisses possible, but she isn't sure what to think about them. The kisses, that is. She always looks a little freaked out, haha. She's completely unphased by the dogs themselves. She can be asleep and they start barking very loudly in the same room and she'll just flinch from being startled, but never wake up. It's wonderful.

As for us? We're managing. XD I'm a hormonal roller coaster from hour to hour and I knew I'd struggle with lack of sleep. I'm getting there, though. Last night was our best night of sleep yet. And even though I've only been up for...4.5 hours, I'm totally about to take another nap. G is working hard around the house because we're dealing with refinancing our home, but he's making sure he helps me out with whatever I need. He's the king of swaddling, that's for sure!

Have a bit of stuff from Spellbound ~~

Moments of peace were so difficult to find in this world. In the eternal war against time itself, the victories were nonexistent and thus mortals could scarcely afford to relinquish guard. The moments when weapons against fate were set aside simply in favor of courting the present were meant to be savored, and I reminded myself of this as I eased a deep breath into my lungs. The air brought with it the smell of my chambers, well below the surface of Vista and the Honorum, a secluded place to remind the world that even a Mage beyond the scope of reasonable power was bound by the limitations of sleep.

 The space was fairly simple, with a high, round ceiling and walls painted faint, uneven shades of blue-ish gray. I rested on what was truthfully little more than a large amalgam of blankets, pillows, and stuffed cushions that swaddled well enough I could not feel the cold stone ground. And directly across the room from my assorted shelves of books and trinkets of varying magical degree, and the defamed portrait of my father, was a sheer glass wall looking into the empty half of our world.

 Through the huge panes I could see what we called the Maelstrom. A swirling mass of water three times the size of our meteorite of a planet that fed into us through the smallest channels - rivers, lakes, rain - all from one beautifully chaotic source. And the backdrop to the masterpiece, the glistening Void entrancing with its slow dance. Thousands of twinkling white stars twisted along colored streams of pure energy, deep purple and lush magenta with thin strands of reflective silver as was common on this side of the world during mid-morning. The ice that peppered the floating orb of water, flowing silently along endless drifts of cool water, split the light from the Void into tiny rainbows that flickered against the glass pane.
