More specifically, I tried to make my first real spell, with magic circle and all

I won’t go into details; I don’t know what I can and cannot share, but I’m pretty sure giving out the entirety of a spell, uh... wouldn’t please my guardian spirits. But the spell was for banishing emotions that hinder me, and it involved burning dried nettle -- both fire and nettle, as far as I know, things that cleanse, and things that are very aggressive.

MISTAKE.

Nettle doesn’t burn well. At all. I’ll have to do some fire-trickery next time, I don’t know exactly what, but burning nettle in and of itself was a stupid mistake.

Cursed Child - 20/07 Magic Fail

Last night I saw Cursed Child (again... whoops).

For the first time I saw a piece of magic completely fail! (Spoilers ahead!!)

In the scene where Hermione and Ron are facing the dementors it went as usual, the dementors got on top of them and the actors attempted to attach themselves. Ron went up fine but Hermione was clearly struggling (it looks like on the clips failed?).

It went on for a fairly long time - Ron was already all the way up! Then two guys came out in huge brown cloaks and started moving around like dementors.

One stood in front and waved around so the audience couldn’t see, however I was near the front at the far side so I could still see. The other was leaning down trying to figure out what was wrong and talking quietly to the actors

After another minute people had started looking at each other confused, then the dementor went up by themselves and Hermione kind of... rolled into the back guy who lifted her and then they marched out hiding her with their cloaks. Throughout this the music kept playing through incredibly well.

It was so strange to see but it’s amazing the way they covered it up - if I wasn’t so far to the side I doubt I’d really have noticed that much!

Magician’s water-filled tank escape trick goes awry for second time at New Jersey show (VIDEO)

A magician who was handcuffed, chained and locked inside a water-filled tank reportedly needed help to get out of the box alive Tuesday.

Spotters freed Spencer Horsman, who calls himself “The escape artist,” when he couldn’t undo one of the last bars holding him inside the tank after around three minutes, as seen in video of the performance posted by New Jersey Advance Media.

He was conscious when he emerged in front of a cheering midday audience outside New Brunswick’s State Theatre, but paramedics took him to a nearby hospital as a precaution, the news outlet reported. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the rescue was a planned promotional stunt or a near-death experience. read more and watch video...
