Our DM gives us legendary items as birthday gifts for IRL birthdays and mine was this week.

My rogue received a dagger that can trap the souls of those it kills for later use. (Carcosas light, for those wondering)

The Party is on a quest to kill multiple god level beings. (We are Level 15 currently.)

Partway through the session my rogue excitedly realized she could now trap god tier souls in her knife.

The look of horror in the DMs eyes was truly satisfying.

Favorite part

My favorite part out of this novel is when The Ersland brothers and Boone and Mal are both trying to find the magic Knife. There is a battle between them to get to the magic knife. Also, the Ersland brothers have more hunting experience than Boone and Mal. Although Boone and Mal win the battle and get the magic Knife.

A brief summary of the novel

Mal lives in a town called Prince Island. An ordinary individual is supposed to have magic powers. Mal is considered a “blank” individual which means he has no magic nor can magic have an effect on him. His best friend, Essie Roe, exposes him of his secret and Mal is forced to leave his only home he has ever known. Mal makes a living as a hunter, his coworker, Boone tells Mal there is a knife to steal magic abilities, brings fame and fortune. Mal decides to help Boone find this powerful knife, while trying to find the knife Mal wants revenge for Essie ruining his life.
