... memory lane ...
A stunning photo captures Freddie Mercury on the rooftop of the Hotel Duna Intercontinental (now the Hotel Marriott) in Budapest, Hungary, July 1986, during Queen’s Magic Tour.
At the time, Freddie was learning the beautiful Hungarian folk song Tavaszi szél vizet áraszt (Spring Wind Floods Water). It was his idea that he and Brian May perform the song as a special gift for their Hungarian fans. Brian later admitted it took them several days to get it just right.
Years later, Brian reflected:
“The fans knew that we knew where we were, and that we really cared where we were.”
It was a heartfelt gesture from one of rock’s true greats—Freddie Mercury, forever a legend.
