Ok so, imagine a Ravenclaw falling for someone and not recognizing it because they've heard stories about love but never had any experiences like that so just assuming they were ace. Imagine this Ravenclaw thinking that their crush just keeps using a nonverbal spell because every time this Ravenclaw sees this person's smile their heart skips a beat and their stomach gets fluttery. They're curious and start to befriend the person in hopes of learning their 'secret' about the magic they're obviously performing. Is it some kind of glamour? After they're friends a while the Ravenclaw asks the other person bold-faced how they do it. The other person is confused so the Ravenclaw describes the fluttery feeling, the giddiness, the warmth. The friend blushingly assures the Ravenclaw that it's nothing they're doing. The Ravenclaw would search their face for any tells of lies or a joke (which they would have catalogued for when they asked about the magic later). Then it starts to click what's happening and the Ravenclaw says "I have a hypothesis to test... may I kiss you?" And that's how their relationship starts.
