Voices of the Old World
I'm just trying to get myself psyched up to edit/revise/rewrite chunks of an 88,000 word manuscript of these two lovebirds from 2017 lol send me coffee & candles
have 2 and 16 from the headcanon asks, if you'd like! :) @kerra-and-company
2.) In game the cities are obviously limited in size. What part of a city that is definitely there isn’t shown in game?
Not gonna lie my first instinct was to say the DMV. Can you imagine a Tyrian DMV? Wild. But more seriously I think the game does a pretty good job of making a realistic city. There’s institutional buildings, libraries, market places, housing districts with class differences, heck Divinity’s Reach even has thought out water management. The one piece of infrastructure I can think of that we don’t see is garbage disposal. All cities gotta dump trash somewhere. But it’s easy to see why that wasn’t included lol
16.) Have you put any thought into how Asuran Magitech works? (If yes the author of this game would love to hear as many details as possible ;D)
As someone who almost exclusively plays asura, yeah I have! This ended up being kinda long so I put it under a read more. Also @dasozelotvonnebenan if you would like to see some magictech ideas here you go!
This little footnote in Digger is a great writing prompt. I wrote a half-page drabble inspired by it that will hopefully one day be a novel, and it was lots of fun.
The character doesn’t have a name yet. All I really know is that he’s somewhere with mythical creatures and advanced technology, and he is not adjusting well. (The title on the folder holding the drabbles is “flustered magitech”.)
...A quick search of my own Tumblr shows that I’ve posted three other drabbles with this guy, featuring his misadventures in taking out the trash, gathering mushrooms, and spying on celebrities.
These are my characters and some homebrew races and classes. Sadly, I was stopped from finishing these as my table died.
Technology Tuesdays!
What this is: a theme-day thingy sponsored by one (1) small blog run by a nerd who loves technology. There’ll be a theme for the particular day - I’ll post something about technology in my own story that relates, then anyone who wants to can reblog/send in an ask/reply/whatever about some technology in their own WIP. And then I’ll reblog your reblog or answer with excited gushing or keysmashing or something. Fun? Hopefully.
I might do themes like weaponry or transportation or something like that next time, but for the very first one, I’ll leave it completely open-ended!
My fact(s):
In the world of Empty Space, a pen has been developed which pulls molecules from the air in order to create ink that never dries out. There’s also a pencil which does the same, pulling carbon and compressing it into graphite, although this is less widely used since it grows uncomfortably hot when it’s doing that. Despite the fact it’s not made of wood, people still get nervous about the 350 degree stick while it’s pulling in carbon.
Talk to me about technology in your WIP!
