Hornbeam and Troll Whisker/Magma Python Ribs, 14", surprisingly supple
This is another lovely example of how to combine two not-two powerful cores to make a wand strong enough for more powerful spells - while one of these cores alone might well be unable to handle more complex spells, or spells which require more strength, together they most certainly can.
Hornbeam is the wand wood of those with an especial interest, with something which they find especially riveting or are particularly devoted to. The cores speak of a slow and solid strength, both from the slow might of a Troll and the slow coil of a python, and, added to this, a vast amount of warmth. The flexibility here is certainly surprising - with a rib at it’s core it should be very stiff, suggesting to me this is a thin rib or a sliver of a rib rather than a large or whole one. The length here speaks of great confidence; likely the special interest of this wix has given them reason to be certain, while their flexibility despite so rigid a heart suggests they are able to adapt around a core of unbending morals, and thus survive.
