Hi Lost! I saw lots of gorgeous Victorian maid Levi fanart and fanfics. I keep wondering where the idea came from. Is this something the fandom came up with? What are your thoughts on this?

Part of the reason I love it is because he's taking care of little Erwin! Little Win deserves to be spoiled 🥺

But other than that, I'm not a fan of maid stories...maybe I don't see the appeal yet. Levi in a maid dress is eye candy tho.

The killer maid is a hugely popular trope in anime and manga, it's definitely not just an Eruri thing. I honestly couldn't tell you where it originated from, it goes waaaay back.

My all time favourite killer maid, and problematic wife, is Roberta aka Rosarita Cisneros aka The Bloodhound of Florencia 🖤 from the 2006 anime Black Lagoon.

Roberta is an ex-FARC rebel, who works as the maid of the Venezuelan Lovelace family, and has a very intense relationship with her "young master" Garcia. Roberta is an absolute icon and a lot of the maid Levi / young master Erwin art I see is directly riffing off Roberta and Garcia.

I haven't read a great deal of maid / master fic but one I have enjoyed which features much older master Erwin and maid Levi is Sanguinarium by @rooksacrifice.
