Do you/any of your followers know a gender-neutral sign for "parent" in ASL? I know "mom" and "dad" and you can combine those signs to say "parents" (plural), but I don't know what just a nonbinary term for parent would look like. I'm trying to learn ASL so I can teach my kid, but I don't know what sign to teach them to use for me.

I do not speak ASL, so please forgive me if this answer is ignorant. It was the best I could come up with.

It appears that most gendered words in ASL are the same sign done either above the nose (male) or below the nose (female). To make the sign for parent neutral, you could do the motion for mother/father right at nose level.

If anyone who does know ASL has further knowledge about this or a better idea, please share!

When I was like 11/12, I had this friend. She and I would go for long walks on the beach and hold hands. The first time she invited me over for dinner, I was really nervous bc I wanted to make a good impression on her parents. Somehow it took until I was 23-ish to realize I was bi. Lil gay me had the biggest crush and didn't even know it.

What are your favorite/least favorite Thanksgiving foods? Or that Thanksgiving traditions in your family?

I love all the food! Lol. But I’m particularly fond of the dressing and pumpkin pie. Also my grandma makes this strawberry glazed ham that is to die for. I don’t like pecan pie AT ALL whether it’s Thanksgiving or not and turkey is always kinda dry to me. That’s why I drown it in gravy.

Favorite tradition is probably watching the Cowboys play and putting up the Christmas tree later. (Though we don’t always put up the tree… sometimes we do it the next day.) Least favorite is the yelling my grandpa always does, especially if the Cowboys lose lol. My grandma loves to tell the story of when I was like 5, I asked to say grace and I asked God to please let the Cowboys win so Paw wouldn’t be mean lol.
