Before we start off Junior Year, I want to share a few pictures from the main hood. I’ve added a skyline, and I’ve begun placing a few buildings.
I really appreciate those Simmers who take the time to build out their neighborhoods before they start playing with their Sims. I am not one of those people. I enjoy Live Mode the most which is why I download most of my lots and why my lots are sparsely decorated. Watching the Sims interact with each other and watching the genetics pass down from generation to generation are my two favorite things about TS2, and it’s why TS3 and TS4 didn’t hold my attention.
I said all of that to say my hood will be a perpetual work in progress, but I did want to show what I have so far.

we’re opening submissions for sims for the main hood! shoot a message here or on discord to claim one :)
a few guidelines:
no cc. you may of course use your own defaults and include a cc version of your sim if you so desire, but it must be packaged with maxis clothing and hair. keep in mind that if you use hair and makeup defaults your sim might look completely different in other peoples’ games though!
sliders are completely OK (and even encouraged); no one wants to play in a neighborhood full of maxis face 2s at this point. ;)
if you’re creating a premade family, make sure that kids are genetically correct (i.e. they are actually spawns of their parents).
feel free to write a backstory for your sims, even the townies! we’ll come up with something if you don’t, but if you wanna give us prompts and instructions they are more than welcome. what is your sims job, its OTH, its turn ons and turn offs, personality points, is it a supernatural of any kind etc. :D
we’ll be adding NPCs at the end when we know the needs of every subhood.

playables: for these you must follow a prompt so the family fits within the neighborhood’s story; go here to read more about them. some of these playables’ homes have already been built, so i’d check out the lots for inspiration as well.

these are the playables for the main town so far, suggested by various simmers over at the build-a-hood discord. these are mainly templates, most of these households’ small details (like how many exact sims or how old) have yet to be decided, so if you wanna send your ideas our ask box is open (and so is the discord invite). i’m mainly posting these to serve as guidelines for the building template i’ll be posting next. :)
1) the contrarian / last sim standing against gentrification. funky patterns on the walls, lawn flamingos, mismatched furniture. this household sits in a otherwise completely boring, cookie-cutter suburban neighborhood, and despite getting the stink eye from their neighbors they refuse to sell or comply with any homeowners’ association demands.
2) the karen next door, our previous household’s mortal enemy. her house is spotless, her lawn the greenest. when she isn’t driving her kids to soccer practice she can be found all over other people’s business, or maybe asking to speak to the manager of the local cafe. you know the type. :) we are planning on having a few other little karens running around the neighborhood as townies.
3) the struggling single mom that had her kids taken from her. a “failed” family sim working hard to get back on track. her kids will be put up for adoption when building the hood; you’ll see them roaming as townies and you’ll be able to get them back (or even have them adopted by another household). up to you how many kids that is!
4) the mayor and her supportive partner. think leslie knope and ben wyatt! feel free to give them any pets or children you may want (if you want). their gender is also completely up to you. :)
5) the supernatural family. a powerful witch, her cheerful vampire husband and their two (seemingly) normal kids.
the witch is neutral aligned and the vampire is pretty benevolent. very friendly household, they try their best to mingle with the other suburban families even though they stand out a bit. :) they have two kids, a female teen and a male child. you can give them whatever personality and style you want. check out their house here.
6) the hip librarian that recently arrived to modernize the town’s library. any potential pets, children, partner, family etc all up to you!
as a reminder, this can all be changed! edit it to your heart’s content, suggestions are always welcome. it’s a collective effort after all. :)
1) A view of the Municipal Center. The Town Hall sits inside Sapphire Circle. To the left, on Sapphire Center Blvd, is Sapphire Park which spans two lots. On the right side are the High School and the Medical Center.
2) The college graduates who aren’t ready to start families will call these waterfront apartments home. Close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants, these apartments are a prime location for enjoying what nightlife Sapphire Springs has to offer.
3) The O’Hannon Family Farm is where Tessa and Ravi will live after Graduation.
4) Sapphire Springs Church, where I’m sure some of our couples will be marrying soon, sits on top of a hill and overlooks Sapphire Bay.
(Note: I’m not much of a builder, so all of these lots were downloaded from MTS. I will gradually make them over.)
