@ocevomit because majima is daddy issues: the character i guess. on a more serious note i do find it fascinating that so much of his conversations with saaya revolve around a father/daughter dynamic. and the way its presented and knowing majima in general it really feels like it highlights how:
1. majima always approaches young women as a parent figure/mentor and the girls (and sometimes also majima himself) read romantic intent into it, it was like this with the y0 hostesses too. and something kind of depressing about it to me is that by dead souls he seems to have accepted that this is like. normal and expected in a heterosexual romantic dynamic so he's literally just going along with it. even though, idk, like it's clear to me that what he really wants is a daughter. like. majima. you just want a daughter. you want a daughter sooooo bad. and these girls just want a dad. but so its. you see how. yeah
and 2. more of a stretch but like considering majima's own complicated relationship with father figures in his life and how hostesses usually mirror the protagonist in some ways i think these conversations also highlight the importance of family/parents/kids in majima's life and how the lack thereof also impacts him in similar ways. his devotion to shimano etc. like majima also kinda just. wants a dad i think
