Majid/Fabio - The Little Mermaid/Fairytale AU Moodboard
Obsessed with the surface world, a merman named Fabio witnesses a shipwreck during a storm at sea and rescues one of the sailors who is thrown from the ship. The sailor, Majid, awakens to the song of his savior on the beach the following morning, but the mysterious rescuer is gone before he can catch his name. Desperate to be with him, Fabio trades his voice to a Sea Witch for human legs, but when he approaches his beloved on land, Majid does not recognize him. Thus truly begins the story about love just beyond reach and the desperate measures taken to achieve it, or else return to the sea.

Fabio was always the best at cleaning wounds; he knew which bandages were best, what ointments to use, which might make things worse, etc.
Tonight had been particularly brutal. Majid had only won the fight by the skin of his teeth and he had the split lip and bruise on his cheek to show for it. He was certain something else was bruised in his abdomen, but it didn’t hurt enough to warrant a trip to an actual doctor.
“One of these days, you’re really going to get hurt,” Fabio muttered under his breath.
Majid was sitting in a chair with Fabio standing between his legs, attending to the wounds on Majid’s face. Fabio had one hand under Majid’s chin, holding his head steady, while he dabbed a cotton ball against Majid’s lower lip. It stung, but Majid was a pro at letting his boyfriend take care of him, and knew to keep as still as possible.
He focused on Fabio’s bright eyes as he worked, idly musing over the way the light affected the color of his irises. Sometimes they seemed green, other times blue. The sole light of the kitchen made them appear gray right now.
Affection swelled in Majid’s chest and he raised his hands to rest on Fabio’s hips. The corner of Fabio’s mouth quirked upward.
“I’m not kissing you,” he said. “Not when it needs to heal.”
“Later?”
“Don’t-”
“Sorry.” Majid smiled, wincing slightly.
“I said, don’t move.” He dabbed once more, then set aside the cotton ball. “There. Don’t emote with your mouth for the next hour, at least.”
Majid resisted the urge to frown when Fabio spoke again, “If you do that, I’ll kiss you first thing in the morning.”
“I’d like a kiss right now, though.”
Fabio narrowed his eyes and smiled playfully. He leaned down and placed his lips to Majid’s forehead.
“There, the one place that wasn’t injured tonight but still needs me to kiss better.”
“Hey- Ow-! Fuck…”
Fabio grinned.
“Told you. Now, let’s get you to bed. I’d like to give you one last thing to help you sleep,” he said, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows.
Majid once again resisted the urge to emote and allow his lips to curve into a smile.
