When I reblog any post that mentions fat bodies or “fat stomach” in the context of lesbian or queer relationships, it's because fat lesbian representation is nonexistent, especially for black lesbians and lesbians of color.
I’ve never seen a show or a story where a plus-size lesbian may be careful what she (or any pronouns) orders on the first date because she doesn't want to be judged, or she may not be able to wear her partner's clothes because her partner is a small or medium. She's an extra-large or plus-size.
I’ve never seen a show or a story where a plus-size lesbian can't sit on her partner's lap because she’s nervous or just can't, or her partner can't lift them and put them on the counter to make out with them.
Many romantic media lack universal experiences that individuals in bigger bodies may have, as well as their emotional and thought processes.
Popularized media romantic/ intimate gestures are for slimmer bodies; the same way the media lacks in queer representation, it's lacking in plus-size representation in romance.
Do better! Fat queer bodies deserve love too!!
