a character being a perpetrator does not negate their victimhood and neither does their victimhood negate being a perpetrator. u can accept and reckon w both dimensions in ur analysis
there is nothing morally purifying about suffering or victimhood, it is not something that inculcates “goodness.”
one’s character has no impact on whether they were/are a victim or not, victim status is not something that is only afforded to the palatable.
it also does not = absolution.
ppl cant handle this in cartoons made for teenagers lets not get ahead of ourselves

its so awkward when people ask me why i dropped out and i have to be like "inadequate disability support" bc no one wants to hear this. they're always like i thought they had to provide that though isn't it the law? girl you might want to sit down i have some bad news about the litigation-based enforcement of the americans with disabilities act
then if i do say that theyre like, couldnt you sue? well theoretically maybe but not without spending more money than i have and putting myself through absolute hell. so no. no i can't.
the minute u start trying to explain what the actual practical day to day of these systems look like to ppl and the crazy inefficiencies and roadblocks and stuff are it really becomes clear how most of them are useless to impossible like the amount of professors that will forbid u from recording their lectures, even just audio, because those are their "intellectual property" with zero exemptions even if u have signed and Official letters from the SWD office on campus. let alone the ones who wont allow laptops or tablets or other note taking or dictation software. despite the fact that one of the things that makes the biggest difference for so many students is the ability to go back and revisit lecture points. being able to relisten to the lecture without having to recall it from memory in the moment is so crucial and i know u obviously know this but like its WILD the way universities treat that like ur committing some kind of cardinal sin our university used to try and get around this by saying that for those classes they would hire students to take dictation notes in the class, which in an actual functioning system would look like "disabled student puts in a request for notes from class x. office sends a hired note taker to that class who takes clear, accurate, word for word dictated notes that the student can then use"
what it actually often looks like tho is "disabled student puts in a request for notes from class x. office posts a Job Request on the SWD board/website asking for anyone already taking the class to submit their personal notes for pay regardless of the quality and usability of those notes. if no one applies, ur shit out of luck. sowwy they tried tho!" and legally, the university is in the clear because """"""technically"""""" ~legally~ they did do the bare minimum and attempt to provide u with something and trying to argue or litigate the usefulness vs uselessness of their support would be a scope so difficult no average lawyer would take it even if u did have the money, which ofc no one does. its so infuriating
god yes, this is all so exactly correct. it is such a thoroughly dehumanizing experience.

there’s a twitter account where this guy thinks every tweet is directed at him and it’s great

I like this meme because the stock photos make it seem like the same woman but 10 years older.
Liking something and wanting to find people who you can bond over it with but you have to block 90% of that thing's fanbase bc they're genuinely so batshit insane
Cheers to 10 years of making videos 🥂

Murder is scary bc a lot of video games are about doing murders, so if someone does murders irl then it could lead to them becoming a gamer. You're literally becoming desensitized to gaming when you do murders.
Rainbow capitalism was good actually, for many reasons.
It wasn't that long ago that banks and companies would refuse to serve gay people. People are going all the way up to the Supreme Court to enshrine the right not to serve LGBTQ people in their business. Rainbow capitalism showed which companies were safe to do business with and it pressured other companies to do the same.
Likewise, companies did and do try to discrominate against LGBTQ employees. Rainbow capitalism let employees be open about their identities and feel safe. The 50 year old gay man marching with Bank of America may have hidden his sexuality for decades because it wasn't safe to come out at work.
It helped set top down societal values and norms that LGBTQ people are a welcome part of society.
It pressured companies to adopt nondiscrimination policies and DEI policies.
It made companies donate to pride celebrations and LGBTQ causes.
with mixed success, it provided powerful and visible allies for political change, like the Respect for Marriage Act. Businesses pulled out of North Carolina and forced it to go back on a bathroom bill.
The drawdown of rainbow capitalism has real consequences. Pride celebrations losing corporate sponsorships means they are not able to hold those celebrations. DEI programs are being rolled back. Companies are buying less from queer owned businesses. Support for gay marriage is actually decreasing in polls.
Are these all cause and effect? No. Is it sometimes just a lagging indicator? Yeah. Are fair weather allies like big corps really not great? Yeah.
Like we're seeing greater threats to LGBTQ people and rights now than in 20 years and if you're still complaining about rainbow capitalism or having to qualify it by saying "I know rainbow capitalism is bad but" then I think you've lost the plot as surely as we've lost some of our biggest most powerful and most visible allies
mononoke full series 🔖
agent & his handler; sentinel & guide; murder husbands?? , whichever strikes your fancy...!
I had a headcanon that Kaito alters his face for every heist even when he appears as KID.
After the close-call with Nakamori nearly figuring out it was him, and only being able to fool him by dressing up as his daughter, he decided to be more careful.
Sometimes he'll use a face-mask, other times he uses makeup to change his appearance.
It can be slight, like using make-up to make his nose look thinner or his cheeks fuller. Or sometimes he'll go full on and completely change his face.
Actually, lets go more than that. He'll alter his body shape as well, such as adding padding in areas, or changing the cut of the suit.
Let the man be the shape-shifting fae he deserves to be!
Hope you don't mind me reblogging your tags my friend because you said everything I couldn't word.
The fact he thinks both of his series are romantic comedies and not the drama-tragedies they are is so fucking frustrating.
Yeah, we have this teenage boy who believes his father was brutally murdered by a criminal org and he takes up the same mantle that got his dad murdered to bring him justice and we see how he risks his life nightly for said cause.
Yeah, we have this teenage boy who was survived an attempted murder and now has to bring said attempted murderers to justice while having to leave his old life behind, something that becomes harder and harder to do as time passes and he realises this wasn't as simple as finding one murderer.
