I've been editing my make up video (that I promise to post soon OTL), and it's turning out a lot longer than I originally anticipated! Emma takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes real time, while Gold takes anywhere between thirty to forty minutes...and I explain a lot, so there is only so much I can cut. ^^'

Anyway, I was considering uploading them as two separate videos (probably around ten minutes each), or I can eliminate talking and attempt to do a single video in fast forward. 

Do you guys have a preference?

Bald Cap Application Test: Part 1 (applying bald cap) Character: Cynthia/Toddler’s Doll

At the very start of the process, I tied my model’ sharing into a French braid so it would tuck into the cap a lot easier. I then used minimal water to slick down any loose hair. After, I cleaned my model’s forehead with alcohol so the spirit gum would have a better hold. Once the bald cap was applied, I cleaned off the excess spirit gum around the edges with acetone, which also thinned out the edges. Once that was done, I applied bondo all around then smoothed it out with a water-soaked sponge. I then used an orange sponge to cover the cap with grease paint as a protective layer for the regular foundation after.

What worked well was the way I spread the bondo to cover the edges. I spread it up towards the edge to really fill in the edge and blend with the skin. What didn’t work was my cleaning with acetone. I should have gone through a second time to really get the edges thinner.

Bald Cap Application Test: Part 3 (Finished Look) Character: Cynthia/Toddler's Doll Model: Mie So this is the completed look. I finished the character by gluing the hair pieces to her head with spirit gum and adding the dots to represent Cynthia's hairline. The last two pictures I changed up the make up to make it even more cartooney. The only problems I came across were with the hair pieces. I made them a bit too heavy and so they wouldn't stay on for a while. After that, the larger pieces were flopping down and would stay up. Next time I should include a pipe cleaner to make it stay up and possibly using less crepe hair to make it lighter. Overall though, I'm extremely happy with the finished look and thankful that I had a model willing to put up with the long process. P.S. Bald Cap Application Test: Part 2 (Make Up) Character: Cynthia/Toddler’s Doll Model: Mie

So after I covered the head area with grease paint, I applied a simple face primer to smooth out the skin. Afterwards, I did full foundation over the head, to face, down to top of chest area. I then did basic facial contouring to make features pop. I did a strong, oversized lip to make them appear larger and more animated. I then glam’d it up with a purple eyeshadow and glitter to make it more girly. I finished it off with false eyelashes and drawing on the eyebrows just to intensify the look. The extra photos are just to show the dress and hair. I took a basic orange dress and used a feather boa piece to line the neck and bottom, then finished the rest with glittery purple gift wrap(I miscalculated the amount of boa so I improvised haha). For the hair pieces, I used unsteamed crepe hair that I stretched out by hand and fluffed out, then spray painting it yellow to for color and hold its shape.

What I really liked was how the lips turned out. I was really happy with it. I noticed that as I was applying the foundation, some of the edges around the ears were coming apart and I tried to reflux them as best as I could using liquid latex.
