Happy first day of spring! 🌸 It's the perfect day to premiere this new flower necklace I made over the weekend. The flower has a citrine at the center and the gorgeous pink stone beneath is rhodochrosite. The chain is wirewrapped links of pale green prehnite. All metal and wire is sterling silver. I made 3 new pairs of earrings! Hooray, let me know what you think. The 1st pair are prehnite with reticulated silver leaves. The reticulation happens at the whim of the torch flame so these are truly #ooak. The 2nd pair are textured copper rolled around freshwater pearls. The earring hooks are sterling. I love pairing rustic with refined. The 3rd pair are fun spirals fused to discs, because spirals are always my favorites. Snowy owl flying across a snowy sky has a moonstone dangling below to represent an arctic landscape. All sterling silver metal components were sawn out by hand using my jeweler's saw. The snowy background on the pendant was created by fusing silver dust to the metal. The moonstone is set in fine silver, which is soldered to sterling silver metal. I framed it with silver wire that is balled on the ends. Snowy owls have actually been spotted on the beaches of NJ during the winter but I haven't been lucky enough to spot one. Today was a very good, productive day! Now you know why it took me so long to finish those pair of earrings. Not only was I being a perfectionist about details on them, I was also working on the two necklaces pictured. The pendant on the left is a bear walking over a boulder opal that made me think of a rushing stream. The necklace on the right is a snowy owl flying through a snowy sky (fused silver dust) with a moonstone dangling below. The earrings at the center have citrine at the center of the flowers and bumblebee jasper dangling below. I'm working on the photos right now and listing info and hope to have these in the shop sometime this week. The green in the prehnite stone is the kind that makes me think of that fresh, hopeful color of early leaves so that's why I chose to add leaves to the ring band. My husband planted some veggie seeds and seeing their green leaves just makes me so happy. So, it seemed appropriate to photograph the ring with them.
