Review: Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette

This season, I’ve noticed that rose-toned palettes are the thing. It started with the Naked 3, which is all rose toned colors, versus the 1 and 2, which are more tan and brown based. Then, there is the Ulta brand best-seller, Rose Gold, which I haven’t found in-store at all. Tarte has a similar palette which is part of their Amazonian Clay line, and is all matte colors. The list goes on.

I decided that I wanted to take part in this trend but I didn’t want to spend too much money, so I decided on the Too Faced Natural Matte palette. 

There are nine colors in the palette:

Heaven - Soft cream  Cashmere Bunny - Light taupe Sexspresso - Expresso brown Lace Teddy - Peachy pink Strapless - Clay red Risque - Dark chocolate Nudie - Light tan Honey Butter - Coral tan Chocolate Cookie - Chocolate red

The swatches I did above are in daylight and without a primer. Obviously, with a primer, they would be richer and more pigmented. I think my biggest selling point for these colors is the fact that there isn’t any shimmer to these colors and that they’re lighter than most. These would be good colors for women who find shimmer eyeshadow too aging. 

I gave the shadows 4 stars instead of 5 because they aren’t as blendable as I would want them to be, especially the dark colors. With the right brush, it can be achieved (I used an IT brush, which are fantastic). Overall, I would buy again, especially for the price.
