I turned my frustration with myself into art.
I feel like this is really important for people to see. I’ve been saying depression and mess go hand-in-hand for years, but so many people feel like they’re alone in it. You’re not.
nor are you alone in havin that bed frame I have it too
let’s all lie in that bed and be depressed and not alone

The MAC Empties Program
If you have a makeup addiction like I do, you probably have an arsenal of MAC products, because, why wouldn’t you?
Did you know that if you have 6 empty reusable containers, which would be any normal product, not special releases, you can return them to MAC for a free lipstick?
Today, I bought the lippie “Fabby”, which is a Frost lipstick. I love MAC lipsticks!
I lined this with “Edge to Edge” liner. Make sure you keep your empty MAC containers!
Review: Tarte Liquid and Loose Powder Foundation
So, over the last nine years of my experimentation with makeup, the one thing I have always had trouble with is my skin. I have combination skin: my t-zone is oily, the outer part of my face is dry. No foundation has been able to help. It either dries me out or makes me so oily, I break out. I have mostly used MAC over the years as well as the tattoo lock-it foundation by Kat Von D. After running out of both liquid and powder, I decided to try something new.
I had seen a tutorial of this done by a wonderful prestige beauty advisor at Ulta on my sister and loved the texture and the matte finish by these products. So, I bought them.
Tarte Clay Full Coverage Foundation Price: $38 at Ulta
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation Price: $36 at Ulta
5/5 Stars for both products.
The thing I love most about these products is that the foundation matches my skin perfectly. That has never happened. The MAC foundation has always had too much orange for my skin tone and the Kat Von D was too white. So I was always either too dark or too light. I was amazed to find a foundation that actually covered my skin correctly. I still have problems covering my dark spots, but a color-correcting primer should help that. The beautiful thing is there are SO many colors!
Another thing I like in a foundation is breathability. This foundation isn’t heavy or clogging; it glides on smoothly with minimum product and builds nicely, but doesn’t cake. I think this is my forever foundation. The only thing I don’t like is that it is extremely expensive. You pay greatly for quality. :)
Review: LASplash Lip Couture Liquid Lipstick
Where?: LASplash website How much?: $12 plus tax and shipping How many colors?: Over 25 4.5 out of 5 Stars
So, when it comes to the world of lipstick, the hot thing right now is liquid lipsticks that dry matte. They’re EVERYWHERE. They were made popular with the introduction of Lime Crime’s lippies and ever since, different companies have been starting their own lines, such as Kat Von D or Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Ever since the downfall of Lime Crime began, indie makeup companies are striking while the iron is hot and are starting to heavily advertise their own liquid lipsticks. The most popular of these brands, at the moment, is LASplash.
The package arrived rather quickly (I paid $5 for express shipping !!!) and I immediately put it on. My first impression is that this lipstick does exactly what it advertises: it goes on liquid, dries matte, is waterproof, and takes some manpower to get off.
The only time I needed to reapply after I put it on was after I had eaten something extremely greasy. The other edge of my lips was fine but the inner edge had been taken off. The first time I reapplied I put it all the way around my lips, which was a complete mistake. After awhile, the lipstick started to crust and become gross. The second time I reapplied after wearing it for a while, I just gently dabbed at the areas that needed color and I no longer had this problem.
I really like the color I picked. The name is Ghoulish, which is the second batch of OG Ghoulish. The colors were changed and, after a public outcry, they brought the first color back as well. I prefer my color; instead of being a light gray, there is a rose tint to it.
Overall, I really liked this lipstick and I would definitely buy it again. While it is long lasting and beautiful, I think my only qualms are the flaking and the smell. The smell wasn’t necessarily gross but it wasn’t something I would want my lipsticks to smell like, which is why I gave it 4.5 stars.
Too Faced Eyeshadow Palettes: Then and Now
So, one thing I noticed about the new Too Faced palette that I just reviewed (which can be found HERE) is that the design for the palette itself is completely different then the earlier ones.
The first Too Faced palette I ever bought was the Naked palette which was similar in concept to the Natural Matte palette. The main differences were the shimmer colors, which I still haven’t really used. I bought the palette in 2010 (and now I’m throwing it away because that’s grody) so, obviously, over time, the designs will change. I really like the new design.
Old Design
Cardboard container
Included small brush
Look book located in pocket
Magnetic lock flap
New Design
Metal container
Magnetic lock
Look book included inside
Small mirror
In my opinion, I prefer the new design. I wish they still included a brush (I’m a sucker for brushes) but without the brush, the palette is less bulky. The metal material will last longer than the cardboard and won’t be susceptible to staining from the darker shadows. I’m indifferent on the mirror being included, but I guess if you needed to travel, it would be useful.
Look out for tomorrow, I’ll be reviewing my new LASplash liquid lipstick and my March Birchbox.
Review: Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Where?: online, Sephora, Ulta How much?: $36, plus tax How many colors?: 9 4 out of 5 Stars
This season, I’ve noticed that rose-toned palettes are the thing. It started with the Naked 3, which is all rose toned colors, versus the 1 and 2, which are more tan and brown based. Then, there is the Ulta brand best-seller, Rose Gold, which I haven’t found in-store at all. Tarte has a similar palette which is part of their Amazonian Clay line, and is all matte colors. The list goes on.
I decided that I wanted to take part in this trend but I didn’t want to spend too much money, so I decided on the Too Faced Natural Matte palette.
There are nine colors in the palette:
Heaven - Soft cream Cashmere Bunny - Light taupe Sexspresso - Expresso brown Lace Teddy - Peachy pink Strapless - Clay red Risque - Dark chocolate Nudie - Light tan Honey Butter - Coral tan Chocolate Cookie - Chocolate red
Pictured, in order of above
The swatches I did above are in daylight and without a primer. Obviously, with a primer, they would be richer and more pigmented. I think my biggest selling point for these colors is the fact that there isn’t any shimmer to these colors and that they’re lighter than most. These would be good colors for women who find shimmer eyeshadow too aging.
I gave the shadows 4 stars instead of 5 because they aren’t as blendable as I would want them to be, especially the dark colors. With the right brush, it can be achieved (I used an IT brush, which are fantastic). Overall, I would buy again, especially for the price.
