Why I feel Bad for Audrey and Chad;
Summary; What the title says also a possible justification for why Chad and Audrey act the way they do. And why they might hate the core four.
☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹
Okay, so first off this is just speculation based on what is implied and what we see happen in canon. And now that that's out of the way, let's get this started. Mal has done alot of terrible things-- we know this and we know that some of the time, she really doesn't know better-- and by extension, so have her friends. And I know what you guys are gonna say, okay? I know. They grew up on the isle and are new to Auardon, and don't know any better!
And yes, while that might be true, keep in mind that Audrey and Chad wouldn't know that. They think they're just regular kids who know right and wrong just like them and just chose not to do so. And their families and other people in Auardon telling them that these kids are bad and no good and trouble probably isn't helping their case either. So yes, while we know the Vks don't know better it doesn't excuse their actions to the aks. Not that it really should to begin with, but moving on to my point;
Chad and Audrey have every right to hate them from their point of view.
I mean, just think about it. Just imagine you're Audrey. Your life is perfect. Your parents and grandparents are proud of you. You have good grades and so many accomplishments to be proud of. You have an amazing boyfriend who is everything you've ever dreamed that your family want you to marry and you have amazing friends. You have all of this one day and then the next, the daughter of the woman who tried to kill your parents is brought to your school.
You don't like her and she doesn't like you. You follow the rules to a T and she breaks them every chance she gets but when you complain, your boyfriend and most of your friends (i.e Doug, Lonnie, and Jane) dismiss you completely. So you stand by and grit your teeth and just try to avoid her and get on with your life since no one will listen to you. Your bestfriend (Chad) is the only one who listens to you and he rants with you. He tells you how your enemy's friend is obviously a gold digger who only wanted to talk about the wand and his castle and how she cheated in class and insulted his mother's dress. You listen as he tells you what he did and you decide not to interfere because it's not your business. You think he'll come to his senses or go through with his word. You listen to him complain about how her other friend completely went nuts on the field and how he was rewarded for it instead of punished when anyone else would have suffered greatly for it. And again you do nothing because you know there's nothing you can do about it. You hear from Chad how Doug, another friend of yours, is absolutely smitten with the blue haired friend (which you already knew) and how she dismisses him in her pursuit of Chad.
You, again, do nothing because you know Doug is stubborn and won't listen to you. So you let Chad handle it. You notice that Lonnie and Jane and other girls from school who you might be friends with have got their hair done by your enemy who used magic. Something no one is really supposed to use anymore. And your boyfriend dismisses you when you point it out and your concerns and insecurities. So you grin and bear it, even though your friends and boyfriend are acting werid and tell yourself that everything will go back to normal.
Only it doesn't and everything comes crashing down around you. Your boyfriend sings a whole song about how much he is in love with another girl infront of all your friends and two whole schools. No adults do anything. Your friends don't do anything. Not even when he tries to Kiss her. Everyone is cheering and clapping and smiling and it hurts so you lash out using your other friend who hates the vks almost as much you do at this point. Then the girl and her friends continue to escape punishment no matter what damage they cause.
Made Jane so insecure that she tried to change herself with the wand? No punishment.
Tried to free their parents? No punishment and they got an A in their goodness class.
Knocked Chad out with a potion spray thing? No punishment.
Undid Jane's magic hair? No punishment.
Made an ugly portrait of you ? No punishment.
Runs away to the isle after continuing to use magic and after trying to erase your ex's memories so she wouldn't face any consequences? No punishment.
Your ex is kidnapped and no one is told until after the big party where a Glass picture is shown? No punishment.
These kids continue to hurt you and disobey eery rule you were ever taught and get no punishment at all because no one cares. And then you get to see your boyfriend propose to the girl who has destroyed your friend group and your life with absolutely no warning whatsoever and your grandmother blames it on you. No one cares if you're alright and you find out that you're one of the only people who wasn't invited to your childhood friend's birthday party. How would you feel? How would you feel if you were Audrey? Wouldn't you lash out too?
And then there's Chad. Chad who is Audrey's friend and the only one to stand by her through all of this while also dealing with what is going on. His whole friend group fell apart. Ben never apologized for hurting Audrey like he did. No one else ever did. No one gave them an explanation. No one cared that Ben was obviously spelled. And he is being replaced as one of the top players by Jay who doesn't follow the rules and gets rewarded for it. Evie gets to date one of his old childhood friends after brushing him off repeatedly in favor of trying to marry him so she could have everything he has. Gets to date his childhood friend after cheating in class and standing by the girl who caused his friend so much pain. Gets to date his bestfriend after insulting his mom and her dress. Mal gets to date one of his bestfriends despite all the harm he caused to him, Audrey, Ben, and the rest of their friends. After making Jane hate herself further and making Audrey feel like shit. Have you noticed that Chad never bothered Carlos except when he stole from him in the 2nd movie?
He didn't insult Carlos. He didn't mess with him like he did with Jay or Mal or Evie. He left Carlos alone? Maybe because Carlos didn't do anything to him or his friends directly. Maybe because he reminds Chad of his mom? Who knows. Point is, he only bothered Mal, Jay, and Evie that we know of. And same goes for Audrey (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember the books or wicked world that well). They lost everything when the vks showed up. They saw them get away with every bad behavior and lost their friend group because of it. Lost their respective roles and the respect of those around them (like Audrey's grandma). Why wouldn't they hate those 3?
Edited as of Jan 27, 2024:
Just learned recently that FG threatened to send them back to the isle after they stole a boat in tje books.
Don't know if the Aks would know that but just thought it should be mentioned.

Maleficent from the Maleficent movies would hate Mal and i will die on this hill. Maleficent was drugged and used by someone who told her that he cared about her and, to her at least, seemed to have the intentions of starting a relationship. She knows how that ultimate betrayal of trust feels. Mal drugged and used Ben, as let's not forget that when she decided to give him the antidote (not knowing he had already been cured, fully believing he was still under the drug's influence) it was directly as she was about to get exactly what she wanted. And her plan was for him to take it after she had suceeded in what she was using him for. Maleficent would lose any respect or love she felt for Mal if she heard this. In fact, it'd be likely that she would try to cut Ben off from Mal as she would know that a relationship built off drugging is toxic and not acceptable.
In defense of the Doug and Ben;
Disclaimer; Mainly about Doug. If you like Mal, this isn't for you. If you ship Malvie, not for you either.
Okay, this is gonna be long and ranty, but I am so done with all this Ben and Doug slander and hate! They are two of the most wholesome characters in this series (especially Ben) and do not deserve this crap. So, I am gonna be explaining their actions from the common complaints I see. But first, let me start off by saying you can ship whatever you want as long as you aren't disrespectful towards others and bashing characters for the stupidest reasons. If you don't like this, than don't read it and go on. Now, let's start with Ben since their reasons are the PETTIEST;
The reasons people dislike Ben and discredit his relationship with Mal;
He yelled at Mal for using magic, not telling him, and trying to turn back time. He must be abusive and controlling.
He doesn't spend time with her friends.
He is naive and dumb and tried to bring Uma to Auardon.
He forgot the isle kids.
He hurt Audrey so he'll hurt Mal too.
He is fake and it's his fault Mal has been unhappy all her life.
Mal is a much better person than him (I have seen all of these reasons personally and it's infuriating).
These are all bullshit reasons and I'll tell you why, one by one;
Ben had EVERY FUCKING RIGHT to be mad at Mal. He thought she was trying to adjust to Auardon and if you didn't notice, Magic is a no-no in Auardon. He doesn't give a fuck about the magic. He doesn't want her to get in trouble or too reliant on it. Magic can work like a drug you know and if she got caught using it before he got the council to agree to him changing the rule, it can cause a scandal and her more pain. He's also just as stressed as she is and upset she didn't tell him she was using it still or struggling. Because HELLO she's lying to him AGAIN. and what does she do instead of talking it out with him and dealing with the consequences of her own actions? She tries to fucking use magic to turn back time so he wouldn't REMEMBER the incident at all! Do you know how many problems her magic has caused in the books, series, and movies? Look at things from Ben's point of view. He's a 16 year old boy who's been trained to be a king his whole life by controlling parents, his people disrespect him constantly and thought and still think his proclamation is a bad idea, and now he's king and has to FIGHT for a whole generation of kids who are trapped with abusers. As well as the core four and Freddy who are in Auardon. All 6 of them have eyes on them at all times and he's trying to make sure nothing messes it up. His dad was cursed along with his staff as a child on Christmas. He probably feared the same happening to him as a child and he's been spelled once before. And ended up hurting his now ex who was a childhood friend by breaking up with her in front of two whole schools by singing a song about another girl. He knows if he tells anyone, Mal and her friends could get shipped back to the isle and his entire plan ruined. And then she tried to make him forget about this moment-- their first argument as a teenage couple-- while he is stressed as all living fuck, having to drop tourney and swords and shields to run a kingdom while still in school, while she's been abusing her magic to make things easier for her. Wouldn't you be pissed too ? And who's to say she hadn't done that before? He was probably terrified that she'd do it again or that she had before. And he felt horrible for blowing up at her and went to the isle to bring her home. He is not abusive.
He is a 16 year old king. He has barely any time to himself and their is 6 month long time skips between the movies. He probably has spent time with them. Alot more than we do see in the movies and he and they clearly care about eachother. They can't show us everything on screen you know.
He is not dumb. Naive yes. Dumb no. He is an empathic, intelligent young man who wanted to give every kid on the isle a chance. Even the girl who kidnapped him. Does that make him naive? Yes. Does that make him stupid. No. He is a good, smart kid who understands that Uma is hurt and rightfully angry that the core four were chosen first and that no other kids other than Freddie have been removed from the isle. He understands she's mad about the 4 at a time rule and wants to help her and her crew without any blood being spilled. He tried to negotiate so she could have a say without having what he thought was the real wand. Mal has taken the real one before. How was he supposed to know that it wasn't the REAL one? Especially since he probably wouldn't have thought of printing out the wand with a 3rd printer? Most people wouldn't have. Why does that make Ben dumb?
The whole idea of him forgetting the vks is also ridiculous. Auardon has a system and a council of heroes who don't want to listen to him. He's probably been working his ass off negotiating and writing out scenarios and plans attempting to get more kids off the isle in bigger numbers while also attempting to show how well and adjusted the other vks are so the public would agree and make it easier for him. Not to mention the whole running the kingdom part has probably been drawing the whole thing out longer than he planned/assumed it would. That doesn't mean he forgot them.
The whole fucking 'Did I mention' break up thing with Audrey is absolutely NOT HIS FAULT! That whole thing is the core four's fault--mainly Mal's for coming up with the idea! They drugged him with a love potion -- one thay was WAY TOO STRONG-- and that is what lead to Ben breaking up to Audrey in front of two whole schools. Yes, he should have apologized and that is his fault but the whole Audrey heart break thing isn't his fault. And he will not hurt Mal. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised If things happened the other way around due to Mal's track record that all of YOU seem to keep forgetting!
No, it is not his fault. It's his parents fault that the isle was made, not his and he is trying to fix their mistakes, so why exactly does everyone blame him for the vks' terrible childhood and their suffering? And why exactly is it his fault that the girl who drugged him and lied about the reason is miserable being queen? Especially when she hasn't communicated this with him! Ben is alot of things but he is NOT a fucking mind reader at the best of times-- and being stressed as all living fuck at 16 with no free time for himself does not turn him into ONE for godsake! And he isn't fake. He loves her for her and stands up for her and what he believes in all the damn time.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 uh, no she's not. Dude, have you read her wiki? Did we watch the same movies? Ben is a sweetheart who wants to help the isle kids. Mal terrorized the isle kids nonstop. She stole candy from a baby. In the wicked it is stated that "But she does enjoy coming up with evil plans and is the most feared at her previous school because of her reputation." She got Evie banished for 10 years because she didn't get invited to her 6th birthday party (her mother probably sent the invites, mind you). She used Jane's insecurities against her and manipulated her, causing her to try and steal the wand. She tried to push Evie into Cruella's fur closet that she knew was filled with bear traps knowing that it could kill or maim her. She was gonna go along with Maleficent's plan and let Evie grab Maleficent's scepter so she could take a 100 year nap. She forced Carlos to throw a party at Hellhall despite knowing how dead he'd be if Cruella found out. She spelled Ben and lied about why she did it, and didn't apologize to Audrey for a long time. The apology she gave Uma was weak as fuck. She tricked the sea three and Celia into working with her and lied to her friends. She was gonna close off the isle forever and not tell her friends about it until it was too late. She was gonna let a ton of kids die. She dumped shrimp on Uma's hair and got her stuck with the nickname 'Shrimpy' and still calls her that when she is a hero. Mad Maddy had purple hair but before Mal ruined it with lye which forced her hair to be aqua green as Mal felt like she should be the only purple hair girl on the Isle. And she also destroyed Maddy's dolls and so much more. Mal is not a better person than Ben at ALL .
Now enough about Ben. Let's move on Doug and the bullshit people are spewing to justify their hatred of Devie (and his character) even though they could just say 'I don't ship them' like reasonable people. Reasons they hate Doug;
He's boring and has no personality.
He's a stalker.
He's a jealous prick who assumed she was cheating on him 'for no reason' yelled at her and that's 'abuse'.
He pretended that her true love's kiss didn't work .
He only likes her for her looks.
They have nothing in common.
He forgets his own family members names so he'll forget important things for Evie too.
He didn't support or defend her at Family day.
All of these reasons can easily be explained away and are also complete bullshit and here's why;
He is actually pretty interesting when you pay attention to him. He knows Spanish, he's a band nerd who can play guitar and a trumpet, he's great at chemistry, and he's good at accounting and helps Evie because he cares about her and wants to help her. And he is fine with Dizzy living at Evie's cabin where he presumably will move into when he graduates. He also seems to have a bit of mischievous streak and isn't blind to Chad's bad habits. He's also kind and was nice to them from the beginning-- not just Evie. And he's not against magic and actually seems interested in it and history. He is not boring and y'all need to stop blaming the writers' lack of expanding and showing his character more on him being boring and bland when that is not the case.
That whole stalking thing is complete bullshit. He followed her once that we know of and eavesdropped on one conversation. Is that a bit creepy? Yes. But he only did it after he saw Chad-- a boy he's known his whole life and knows can't be trusted-- slip her a note. He followed her to warn her about Chad, fully admitted that he followed her and listened to the conversation, seemed embarrassed, and told her info she wanted to know. He is not a stalker for any of that shit. It was one time and he was just looking out for her, which is why Evie wasn't too mad or freaked out in that scene by it.
Have you guys not seen descendants 2? He had every reason to think she was cheating. She was acting werid and secretive, keeping things from him, and he's an insecure teenage boy from a big family in a land where everyone values looks and manly things. He knows she's out of his league and he's probably heard one too many jokes about how she'll leave him for someone better, how his princely classmates will steal her from him, and how she's probably using him or dating him until she finds someone better because kids are cruel and tactless. He's probably been convinced by everyone that he isn't good enough for Evie. He's been overlooked and ignored by teachers, adults, his peers, and girls before because he isn't a handsome, manly prince. So of course he'd suspect she was cheating and that stupid lie the boys told about her camping most certainly didn't help. Sure, she could have been throwing him a surprise party but he knows when his birthday is and if it isn't close than he knows she isn't doing that. She told him nothing and acted suspicious. Her friends avoided him and acted suspicious, and told him a lie that made no sense. As far as we know, Evie doesn't like camping but if she did and was going camping, she would have told Doug that and not been acting suspicious. And y'all forget the most important thing. He asked if she was (by yelling, but still) and took her word for it when she said no. Most people wouldn't have believed her. Does he get credit for that? No. He gets hate.
Dude, he's a fucking teenager. Yes, it is a dick move but he only pretended for like a minute and stopped afterwards. Teenagers do shitty pranks at the wrong time. That doesn't make him abusive or awful. It was a one time thing. Y'all telling me you weren't a dick once as a kid or teen?
False. He loves every single piece and part of her, including her looks, and isn't surprised when she does well on her test without the mirror. Next.
Lies again. They are both incredibly smart people who love chemistry and their friends and history and so many other things. They love and support one in several ways, and I will not stand for this slander.
It is obvious that some of y'all ain't come from big families. He has at least 6 uncles and presumably they all have spouses and kids. He has one brother that we know of and 8 known cousins. That does not take in account cousins-in-law, grandparents, and over extended or unknown relatives. I come from a big family and let me tell you, it is hard to remember names and dates when you have that many people to keep track of. That doesn't make him neglectful or a bad person, and it won't make him a bad boyfriend.
He may not have defended her at family day but he did defend her and stand up for her to Mr Deley. A teacher. When he is literally a nerdy kid with no sporty talents, good looks, or known royal blood. He risked his own neck to advocate for her there and stopped her from ratting herself out and getting in trouble. And as for family dad, he apologized to her for having to go. He is a scrawny nerd who could get beat up by Chad or others if he ignored Chad to talk to her and yelling at an adult, let alone a royal adult, in front of several other adults (family included) in Auardon would not ended well for him. He would have gotten in trouble and wouldn't have been able to help her later on and Evie clearly knows this, or else she would have been angrier.
These are two inexperienced teenage boys who were nice to these kids who they had heard nothing good about with no ulterior motivates. They're kind hearted souls who want the best for those they care about and they see the best in people and neither of them turned on the vks when they showed no interest in them. So stop the fucking slander and stop claiming any characters who yell and argue with their partners are abusers. These two aren't and are probably some of the best things to happen to Evie and the others. Humans make mistakes and shouldn't be defined by them when they aren't that fricking big of a deal.
Requested by @descendants-extended . Hope you enjoy.
The Stormbringer Crew Memes Part 1;

What probably happened post d3 with the 4 Hook siblings.
Hannah in d1 regarding Maleficent's orders.
Hannah in D1.
Hades' kids in a nutshell. Mal trying to fight Skia and their siblings inferring because they know it'd end badly for her (Mal).
You know how the core four knew Mal was using magic in-between d1 and d2? THIS is basically Hannah trying to get Mal to stop lying to Ben about her magic use before it ends badly.
Hannah before they get to Auardon.
Hannah all her life.
Another diss to Maleficent's plan.
A little sibling-ly squabble.
Everything has Changed;
Summary; 12 year old Hannah Hook gets invited to come with the core four to Auardon. This is her reaction.
Trigger warning; Some Mal bashing because this is Harry Hook's sister and pre Mal leaving the isle. It will get better over time.
🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
It was proving to be an inauspicious morning for the young duo who just couldn't seem to get any studying done, no matter how hard they tried to. Which was why they were currently sword-fighting instead of rereading the book that Hades had assigned them for their test.
Hey, don't look at them like that. Studying is hard! Especially when you have ADHD, dyslexia, and a short attention span. What else were they supposed to do in this situation? Not sword fight? Ha, as if that'd be a viable option. Besides they'd get back to the whole studying thing when they grew bored of their little duel in an hour or two. Maybe.
Hannah made sure to keep a firm grip on the hilt of her sword as she dodged a blow from Skia's sword with ease. Swiftly maneuvering her way out of the blade's reach with far more grace than she ever exhibited in anything else other than writing. Smiling with mirth and allowing herself to let out an enchanting laugh that just seemed to radiate warmth as she did so.
The brunette then made it look as if she was going to perform a high guard maneuver only to switch to the pillow guard maneuver at the last second. Only for Skia to deflect the move, as if she had seen it coming. That was no good; that meant that she was becoming predictable. Hannah made a mental note to herself to work on that before shaking off her shock and thrusting her blade towards her friend once again. Only for it to be blocked.
Hannah (rightfully) swore in frustration at the fact that she wasn't doing so hot. Knowing that Cj would never let her live it down if she were to get word of how poorly she was doing against someone who didn't have the sea in their veins like they did. Hannah decided that she was gonna have to try harder than she already was and practice more until she improved. She couldn't let herself get sloppy. It would reflect poorly on her crew and her family if she did that, and that simply wouldn't do.
The point of her blade barely missed Skia, only adding to her frustration because she knew just as well as the Bluenette did, that niether of them would stop until they either drew blood or got interrupted. Everyone knew that. Because most of the kids were the exact same when it came to dueling-- whether or not they were just practicing. No one stopped till someone was minorly injured or until they got interrupted by someone. That's just how things went. On the isle at least.
Hannah wasn't sure if that was the way it was off the isle. She had never been off the isle to know if it was or not. No one else had either because of the stupid barrier that was keeping all of them trapped there. Oh, how Hannah longed to be free from this blasted place. Free from the hellish isle that posioned all that lived there in one or another. Free from Gaston and Frollo and Ratclifee's IQ-lowering ranting and raving that no one ever really listened to.
She longed to see healthy grass and to play in and drink clean water. She longed to taste fresh food and to bask in the sun's light for the first time. She longed for the safety and care free life that she saw on tv but also for the thrilling adventures the pirates from the before times told of as far back as she could remember. And she longed to experience it all with her friends and family, and maybe even a lover if they were funny enough for her liking. But she knew that it would never happen because it simply wasn't possible and that was a fact of life. One that wouldn't change.
Because the facts of life never changed. People lived and died no matter what you did. You can't save everyone. Cruella is nuts. Her (Hannah's) brother was nearly as bad. Half of the adults on the isle are narcissists. All of these were unbeatable, undebatable, and unchallengable facts of life. Even if she wished that they weren't.
Skia lifted her sword, only to pause as she glanced at something over Hannah's shoulder. Hannah didn't even have to glance back to know what/who Skia was seeing. The half grimace, half snarl on her friend's face was enough for the brunette to know that the undesirable had boarded their ship without permission once again. 'Son of -- I really have to start pulling up the gang plank when we're on board to prevent the dictator from boarding' Hannah thought to herself, just barely suppressing an irrated sigh as she sheathed her sword and turned to face their enemy.
She, however, allowed herself to scowl since she knew that the animosity between the two of them was perfectly mutual. And because she wasn't sure that it was physically possible for her not to scowl at the purple haired fairy that had caused her brother and his crew so much pain over the years. Not that she was willing to try and find out if it was. That would be a bigger waste of energy than Hannah was willing to give to Mal of all people; Mal wasn't worth that.
"Hello little miss dictator " the younger girl greeted, making sure to put extra emphasis on the 'dic' part of dictator just to rub in how much she hated the elder in front of her. "Who exactly gave YOU permission to enter MY ship because I sure as hell don't remember doing it"
Mal rolled her eyes-- how dare she-- cocking her hips in a way that made her seem far too arrogant and confident for Hannah's liking. Hannah and Skia both narrowed their eyes, both equally unamused with the balant disrespect that the brat was showing. God, it was so hard to believe that her and Skia were related. She was just so fucking annoying and hauty all the fucking time. Hannah would never understand how anyone can stand her and her stupid holier than thou attitude that seemed to toxify whatever room she entered.
Before Hannah could even think about throwing the older girl overboard for her insolence, Skia spoke up. Purposely keeping her eyes on her to clearly show that she was addressing Hannah and not Mal "It seems her ego has gotten so big that it's negatively affecting the way her brain functions. Assuming she ever had one, that is" Hannah smirked, biting back a laugh.
She loved Skia's quick insults and quick thinking. It always came in handy. "Let's hope it stops growing before it weighs her down, then, shall we?" Hannah replied, adding in her own two cents. Making sure to keep her eyes focused on Mal's face the entire time so she could see just how much it pissed her off.
Unfortunately, she looked unbothered and blew at her nails, like their inconvenience was pointless to her. "You're going to Auardon in a few hours, fishhook. So start packing " Hannah froze and was distantly aware of the thud she heard from behind. Probably from Skia dropping her sword from being equally as astounded as her captain was. "Uh what?"
Hannah had not expecting that. She had thought that Mal had come to stir up trouble or steal from them again. Or to leave a message for Harry or Uma as usual. But instead she got this-- whatever this was-- and she didn't know how to react to it. Mal laughed, far more amused than the situation called for. "People from Auardon are coming to get us so grab your shit and meet us at the gates"
Hannah took a step back, feeling all of the confidence she had accumulated over the years drain from her with that mere sentence. Fear gripping her heart for the first time in forever at the thought of leaving home without her family and crew. "What do you mean? Why should I go with you? Why are they coming for us? Is this a prank? What did you do?" she knew that she was rambling but she didn't care. She was scared and confused and wary, and felt as if all the air in her lungs had been sucked out of her. Why did that always happen when she was afraid?
Mal rolled her eyes once again, no doubt finding her emotional reaction overdramatic. Like always. There was a reason she didn't like her after all. Well, more like several. Several reasons but this topped the list. Hannah wanted to scream in frustration but Mal didn't give her the chance. "Prince Ben wanted to take some Villain Kids and show Auardon that we aren't like our parents. Silly right? It's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
Skia hummed, no doubt thinking of charge laws and loopholes that would allow her to accompany Hannah to Auardon. Since Mal hadn't addressed her at all, which meant that she likely wasn't technically allowed to come with. Which was just stupid because it was a well known fact that wherever Hannah went, her friends followed. "And he chose you? Of all people? WHY?! You are like the WORST person to show that!"
The Purplette just shrugged in response, still somehow managing to look bored throughout all of this. Hannah wondered how she managed it. Though she didn't think she'd ever really know the answer to that. Mal certainly wouldn't tell. She never did. "Becuase my mother was the most powerful and baddest of all villians. He probably wants to show that if I can change, anyone can". Hannah wouldn't admit it but that made sense. That didn't mean that she wasn't skeptical, however.
"And how do I know that this isn't some ploy to capture me and hold me hostage as a bantering tool or something?" Call her paranoid but she wasn't about to take any chances. She had learned her lesson the first 3 times she had decided to give the purple haired fairy the benefit of the doubt. She wasn't going to make that mistake again. And it seems Mal knew that because she came prepared. "There's a letter"
Her word alone wasn't enough to convince Hannah. Not after the many bad interactions between the two of them. Not after the many bad interactions between her family and friends and Mal. It just simply wasn't good enough. She had to see some actual proof or she wouldn't be going anywhere. "Do you have it on you?"
Mal reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out the fabled letter, holding it out to her. The younger girl quickly snatched it and gave it a quick once over-- and sure enough, it was real. Or at least, it looked that way. Complete with a signature from the soon-to-be king himself. Her jaw dropped instinctively-- something she didn't notice until Skia elbowed her in the side. She swallowed heavily before clearing her throat and tightening her grip on the letter. Trying not to show just how rattled she was by the whole situation.
"Okay. Got it. You can go now. I'll let you know whether or not I decide to go after I've discussed it with my family and crew" Mal looked offended and crossed her arms. "And why would I leave?" It took every fiber in Hannah's very being not to snap at her right there and then. Why did she always have to push her buttons? "Because I never invited you on my ship in the first place and you've done your job so you can leave now. Since I assume you have better things to do than just sit here and watch me read"
Mal rolled her eyes once again, scoffing. Hannah bite her lip, just barely holding back a snarky reply about how her eyes would get stuck that way if she kept doing it. She knew it would just start another argument or fight, and keep Mal here longer if she did. And she didn't want that all. She just wanted her to go so she could read the damn letter and discuss it thoroughly with her crew, and family. Was that too much to ask for? Apparently it wasn't because Mal left as soon as that thought entered her head.
As soon as she was sure Mal was gone, Skia muttered"Bloody show pony"-- No doubt just as frustrated as Hannah was by the whole ordeal-- before turning towards her and asking "so what's it say?" Hannah glanced at the letter and let out a sigh "alot". "Well, time is ticking. So I guess we better start reading" was the (unamused) reply she got. This was gonna be a long day.
