Malara is the name for the largest island in the Malaran Archipelago. The denonym for any individual from Malara is Malaran.
The Malaran Archipelago, in addition to Malara itself, consists of Relica, The Thorns, and approximately fifty thousand smaller islands. These are variously incorporated into micronations, island federations, or are simply privately owned by wealthy families from Lifilan. The demonym for the whole region is contested, though Archipelagic is occasionally used.
Upon the island of co-exist two nations: Malarus (MAL-ah-russ), the home of the Malarusians (mal-ah-RUE-(s/z)eean), and Ranun (ruh-NOON), home of the Ranuni (ruh-NOO-ni) peoples.
Beyond the limits of the Archipelago, people generally do not understand or respect these nuances, and call its people and objects Malaran and Malarusian interchangeably.

11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?
Hmm, that’s a good one because -- as of now -- Malarus has been trained never to show that response. Probably if someone insulted or tried to hurt his new-found friends. He would tear them apart with his teeth.
18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode?
Quiet, not too much around him. Not too big either, but nothing cell-like. He’s not used to owning a lot, and he’s probably going to stay that way for a good while. He’d be okay with one or two nice windows (but would want locks on them). He’d want something preferably near the ocean, where it rains.
35. Is your character afraid of death? If they got to choose how to die, how would they want to go?
No. Malarus has, many times, wanted to die, and has probably tried multiple times to try and escape the pain...but, if he had a choice, it would be to save someone he cares about. His choice.
38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc?
RAIN. HE LOVES RAIN. He hasn’t seen rain in a long time.
42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change?
He regrets being so desperate to make his family happy. He regrets how foolhardy he was in the past, rushing into a relationship and enlisting himself in the army. He regrets falling in love with a man who, now he might realize, was only using him. He regrets following that person down a very, very dark path.
48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious?
I would say it’s very rare for him to get envious; right now the only thing that would probably result is frustration. He doesn’t quite understand the concept yet (he’s never owned anything, he’s never wanted anything).
50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say?
“...would you like to go look at the rain sometime?”
