Malatang (麻辣烫) is a build-your-own hot pot–style dish.

So my husband’s been dealing with gum inflammation all week because his very last molar decided to half-sprout and crash into the other teeth. He couldn’t really eat much, and honestly nothing I cooked felt satisfying anymore. After days of getting bored with my own cooking, we finally broke free and had dinner out. Last night’s choice? Malatang.
