SW positivity: The KotOR series will always have a special place in my heart. As someone who didn't start playing KotOR until 2011, it makes me happy to see this old game series still gets love, because the KotOR fandom helps me keep interested in the series. The KotOR fandom on tumblr in particular had inspired me to make same-gender romance mods for the KotOR games.

38 What memory do they revisit the most often? 

Hmmm, for Lycaea that’s a tough one. The memories that were most formative for her personality in vanilla were kind of painful so I’m not sure how often she’d revist them. I guess possibly the first time she killed someone, which is when she viewed her transformation from apprentice to sith to take place.

for harin-so, possibly zir acceptance into the jedi order or zir marriage (to felix) for positive things. for negative things, it would be involuntarily revisted, but it’d be when zie failed to stop terrak mohrrrage from killing the jedi masters (Because zie thought his “kill me and they die too” shtick was a bluff). zie’d revist it when making other important decisions of life and death to not commit the same mistake twice.

E Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you? 

God that’s so hard to say for Lycaea :P Lycaea is kind of emotionally constipated, which #beentheredonethat, since lots of her personality/backstory is based off an aspect of mine (though obviously I am not a sith who kills people). I think vanilla game I wouldn’t get along with her. she’s a little too-image conscious to admit she makes mistakes and i can just see conversations going nowhere. i’d probably get along with kotfe her though.

for whether she’d get along with me… i’m not sure. lycaea respects deciveness, and i guess it probably depends whether i’m in one of my super wishy washy moods or not.

harin so i’d get along with great though. zie is super chill. you have to work to get on zir bad side (like unless you’re an asshole who hurts innocent people but i’m talking about personality flaws you might find in every day conversation). zie likes quietness and i’m pretty quiet.

Again, as noted by the download page and the Read Me file, if you use my gay Brianna mod, if you install my gay Brianna mod, you do not need to install my gay Visas mod, unless you want the Visas romance scene available for male and female Exiles. If you use my gay Brianna/Mical mod and you play a male Exile, Mical will be the one who talks to the male Exile after the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave.

Yes, the download page and Read Me file of my gay Brianna mod has also noted that the mod will make Visas romance scene trigger for female Exiles, and similar change was done by my gay Visas mod. By Visas romance scene, I meant the Visas conversation after the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave. And YES, f!Exile x Visas is an underrated ship and I'm so happy that you ship it.

see kids, this is why you should read the readmes!! (i will definitely do a playthrough with bri though, once i’ve recovered from this one)

if your character could romance anyone, regardless of class or npc status, who would they have romanced? 

I’ll answer these for a lot of chars b/c I’m fun like that

Tank: Tank works well with Jorgan, but she works well with lots of people tbh. I did a bounty hunter AU version of Tank and she worked well with Theron. I imagine she might also work well with Lycaea (my LS sith warrior).

Anyway, long story short is Tank works with lots of people

Xareesh I think would get along really well with Akaavi. It’s a shame she can’t meet her because she’s a bounty hunter

though honeslty if i had more time, i’d roll up a smuggler xareesh just to see how it works, since Akaavi is amazing and yet somehow unromanced by my current smuggler?

have their light side/dark side actions changed over time? (i.e., a sith warrior who starts out light but ends up dark, etc.)

Lycaea started out the opposite of the example (she started more morally ambiguous/cruel (depending on what time of life) and ends up a decent person). granted you can’t see some of hear earlier shittyness because a large part happened before the game started. A lot of it was fear based and she isn’t scared for a large part of vanilla game (exception being when Draagh dropped a cavern on her).

Nehari starts of a bit pointlessly cruel. Some of her party members take the edge off, though she is never winning any good person awards. Ashara was the main influence because Nehari could see that Ashara was strong but also not a dick. Like a “hey maybe you don’t have to be shitty to people to be strong.”

granted, she still is shitty because Nehari is in my basket of (probably) irredemable characters, but her internal attitude changes some.  None of this is super relevant to the original question I realize but oh well I already typed it out.

Messilandre starts out kind of well intentioned but a bit judgemental and harsh with her enemies, and extremely insecure but still wants to help people. so light side ish. Then after she gets brain whammied by the emperor she gets more cold and vengeful. she doesn’t hurt innocent people but i would still categorize her as dark side-ish. later on she gets more confident with herself, less insecure, less leaning on violence (though she is still capable of throwing down).

And Aereinys goes from lawful evil (well on the neutral side of evil, but she still has no qualms with obeying skeevy orders she gets) to chaotic evil to chaotic neutral. Oddly enough, despite her shift from (what I read) as evil to more neutral, I think her DS LS points stay similar, since lots of times the vengeful against people who hurt you choices are dark side, and there are options to still do stuff that is morally inexcusable for the empire that are light side.

and harin-so gets considerably more LS in actions after the end of chapter one, with zir huge fuckup that results in (spoilerspoielrs). zie wants to avoid jumping into anotehr fight that might have consequences zie couldn’t have predicte

4 How easy is it to earn their trust? 

Not very easy at all :P growing up in the Empire to be trained as a Sith, Lycaea learned to keep people at an emotional distance very early on.

Once you do have her trust, she’ll step in front of a blaster bolt for you though which is easy to do if you’re bullet proof but w/e

11 How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? 

Unless she’s with people she trusts (Vette, Jaesa, sometimes but not all the time Lana) she pretends she understands. She doesn’t like bluffing and overplaying her hand, so she prefers not to talk about whatever topic is confusing her. She’ll like brush it off, but not make a huge fake story about it.

B) What inspired you to create them? 

Initially, the SW I rolled up was a pureblood male Sith who was pure dark side. He was completely unpleasant to play, so I was like “fuck this I’m gonna make another Sith warrior! A better one! And since I’m doing this for fun I’m going to make her as pretty as possible.”

so the pretty as possible explains how she got to be pastel purple togruta. how she got her character attributes and partial sith heritage was me working that so she fit in canon - she has lots of her character attributes because she wants to do good but was raised in an environment where that’s not the intuitive thing to do, she’s part sith because of all of the allusions to her sith bloodline, etc etc

j) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?

okay things I manipulated -

her species (¾ togruta, ¼ Sith)

her bodytype (link) - she’s now actually allowed to be chubby

she’s allowed to get permanently injured - after draag drops the cave on her, she has to spend some time replacing her legs and getting used to her new ones

her age - she’s a little older than SW is “supposed” to be in canon, since they emphasize how you’re supposed to be in the academy ahead of schedule. Lycaea was actually behind schedule for the academy - they weren’t even sure she was going to be able to get in. So the beef isn’t that she’s ahead of schedule, it’s that she may not have been able to get in at all otherwise. She was a talented lightsaber fighter, but kind of disappointing with the force until a certain event, and the sith were already predisposed to judging her harshly because of her neurodivergence (she’s autistic like nearly all of my ocs) and alienness

what she does in kotfe - the details are not 100 percent ironed out yet, but she’s not the canon outlander yet she has interactions with arcann and vaylin

and probably more but they escape me at the moment

   Saresh is definitely an unpopular character in the SWTOR fandom, both on tumblr and outside tumblr, and she is treated really badly by the writers too. I’ve always suspected that her arc in KotET’s Chapter 2 is a deliberate attempt to finally allow players to kill her. Saresh is definitely one of the SWTOR characters that I like more than their writers and/or most of the fandom do.

and then even if you pick the ‘light side’ option of imprisoning her (without trial) instead of killing her, you then get a letter from the republic saying it’s totally okay to abuse her as a prisoner and they won’t judge!

its like the writers couldn’t stand the idea of someone not hating her as much as they did.

11 Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? 

Vaylin seems unpopular with the writers, but fortunately most of the people I interact with like her like I do. I guess Saresh? most of my mutuals seem neutral to her or like her, but when I make posts about her that are in the regular tag there seems to be a bit of negativity so I’d say she’s regarded as unpopular in the fandom. I like Saresh because she’s an ambitious woman in a position of power and realizes that you know, the Empire is bad. I assume she’s disliked by bits of the fandom for that exact same reason (doesn’t help that the writing tries to portray her as bad too)

12 Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

I’m actually trying to think here. I don’t have any off the top of my head I guess. I”ll edit this if I think of one :P
