Everyone certainly seems particularly feisty today.
I've caught on to that. I can't exactly say the reason why but it's making for amusing conversation.

Where has Ethan becoming a Spectre come from? I mean.. no offense but he's hardly Commander Shepard, someone who had to work for years and achieve military prominence in order to even be considered. I'm sorry it just really perplexes me, could you explain /why/ exactly he gets to be a Spectre, I'm talking specifics. Sorry for this but it's just confusing for me.
[[Well anon, essentially It's a confluence of things.
There were a few action threads I had worked out before, hell, he came to the citadel because he was working with a spectre to rescue the children of diplomats that were kidnapped and taken to Omega. But this mostly started with an old thread I ran through with Shane-shep that had him stop an indoctrinated turian diplomat from draining funds from the joint war effort. as the thread was dying they told me that they were writing it as a plan to assess Ethan for spectrehood
Further, he participated in the citadel coup, and did well (though the thread never really left the ground, and now that mamie is dead, never will go again) he has, (ostensibly) friends in higher positions in Citadel politics.
Then he stopped a reaper indoctrination plot, killing a paul grayson-type monster.
I mean, I don't want to seem like I'm leaping into this because of a whim, I did actually think this through.]]

It is not all bad.

In Remembrance.
The day I met Shepard she saved my life. It is a testament to her character when I say that no one who knew her would be surprised by this selfless act.
She was never a fighter, Shepard. But she fought anyway because someone had to. She fought for us because we were her family. Shepard had no mother, no father, but she was not alone in this galaxy. She had us. We often joked that she was our mother, but I do not believe it was so far from the truth. There was never a woman so deserving of the title. I wish I had gotten the chance to tell her that more often.
I think the fondest memory I have with her is when she attempted to bake a pizza after having several cups of alcohol. That was how she always took it, in a coffee mug. I think that was the one meal in years that I made from scratch without burning or ruining it. She did most of the work, of course. I was just there to make sure she didn't burn the kitchen down. That was the first time I met Waffles. /Kirrahe pauses, chuckling quietly to himself./ I wonder what has become of him now.
I never saw her angry. Always smiling, always ready to help. A shoulder to cry on. She was the best of us, and now she is gone.
No soul has made it through this war without scars, inside and out. But thanks to Shepard we have made it out alive. Ready to face this new... strange future with renewed strength, and allow time for these scars to heal. I think we owe it to those who sacrificed their lives to this war, and Mamie, to overcome the prejudices of the past and work for a better tomorrow. Free of the Reapers once and for all.
/He raises a mug filled with alcohol./ To Commander Mamie Shepard, a finer woman we shall never meet.
Tumblr needs a "hug" button
[seriously, I can't 'like' this post. I just want to hug Mamie and everyone involved, with two obvious exceptions]
An Unlikely Circumstance
A last stand. The barking of gunfire and animal like growls was all that Noble Six heard as the fearless Spartan made a last stand against a growing wave of enemies. Ammunition was running low and the Spartan took one step back before she was knocked off of her feet by a blow she only felt. It was painful and it forced the air from her lungs as her body was enveloped by energy which could have only been described as a Slip Space anomaly. In the blink of an eye she was gone, removed from Reach as the last of the Covenant ships looming overhead begun to glass the fortress world. Such a fate mattered not anymore.
A blast of light shook through a small area not to distant from the human embassy as the onyx armored spartan was thrown to the ground with a solid impact. A moment of confusion washed over the Spartan as she was confronted with the sight of a sleek metal floor and bright light. This was not Reach. This was not what she remembered. Her senses screamed at her that this situation had quickly changed and that she needed to adapt quickly, and so she did through the act of reaching for both her pistol and her MA5C ICSW through instinct. Her armored gauntlets gripped the weapons as her sight was overwhelmed with countless Aliens she had never seen before milling about with humans. Their attention was directed towards her, and her confusion deepened as her attention shifted away from what seemed like civilians towards the... 'sky'. Whoever these... aliens and humans were, they were not threats. That was until she caught the sight of a blue armored aliens and humans alike with their weapons already level and directed at her. She heard strange languages that not even her translation software embedded in her suit could decipher.
She immediately fell back several feet as she planted her left foot firmly on the ground and leveled her own weapon with them. Their human companions demanded she drop her weapon, but that was not something she would consider. Instead her silence would be the response. Caution was played on both sides, and still Spartan B312 remained silent. Her finger hovered over the trigger, ready to fire at a moments notice. She would not yield in a nest of unknowns. Their demanding yells were answered with the stoic reflection of her onyx colored visor.
