I know people have different opinions...like I get it...I just can’t understand how people are saying that Chan Sung and Man Weol have no chemistry... Like I really can’t understand the people who are saying that. They are fricken amazing together! If you don’t like his character cool but you really can’t be saying they have no chemistry. Just wanted to say something cause I keep seeing that on here.

REASONS TO LOVE HOTEL DEL LUNA

1. IU – it’s IU, what’s not to love about her. Honestly I used to only be a fan of IU as a singer, but now seeing her acting skills made me want to respect her more as an artist. Only IU can easily pull off the mixture of melancholy, temperamental and comedy in Man Weol’s character.

 2. Yeo Jin Goo – as a child actor, I’ve always seen him in numerous dramas and I had always known how competent he is as an actor, but it’s in Hotel Del Luna that got me hooked on him. His character as Chan Seong was introduced first as hilarious, he’s just so adorably funny every time he gets spooked by the ghosts in their hotel, but as the story unfolds, Jin Goo is doing a great job into transitioning to the more sensitive side of his character. 

Have to give this to both Jin Goo and IU for their chemistry is indeed praise-worthy. They’re not cringey and their team up exudes the perfect balance between comedy and romance.

3. P.O and Mina – the couple we never thought we needed but we ended up uwuing. I’m actually a fan of PO in his other shows like JTTW and Kang’s Kitchen and he is just one big fluffy guy. As for Mina, she’s one of my favorite IOI members coz she’s so adorable. Thus, seeing them together is a delight and their scenes always made me smile. Who would’ve thought that they would look good together?

4. Chung Myung – The character that got everyone interested in Man Weol’s past other than herself and Yeon Weo. Anyway, I gotta admit, if I hadn’t first love Chan Seong I would really want Chung Myung to continue his story with Man Weol. And by the time I am writing this, there’s still a lot to be told on their story… may he be a traitor or not, I still love him and his love story with Man Weol.

5. The Plot – kudos to the talented writers. The plot is just a combination of beautiful, sad, funny, awesome, out of this world and many other positive adjectives. In my opinion the transition between the past and present are not confusing, the characters are well developed, romantic scenes are romantic-not-cringey-type and overall the story is just easy to follow.

6. Man Weol’s fashion – previously being a thief, it makes sense how she is obsess with beautiful things, that includes her wardrobe which is to die for. Man Weol never fail to look fashionable wherever and whatever the situation is. Rumors has it that because of her fashion sense, vintage style clothing will make a comeback in the Korean fashion industry soon.

Just a side note – I’ve always thought IU as a Princess, with her previous roles and her being once Korea’s nation’s little sister, but watching Hotel Del Luna, I’ve witnessed how IU turned into a Goddess, which is emphasized by her equally stunning wardrobe. In each scene her presence is just dominating in a good way.

7. Amazing OST – their soundtrack is so beautiful it will make you cry. Seriously. All of the songs are chosen well to  perfectly support the story. I like almost all the OST’s but my favorite is Taeyeon’s A Poem Called You. Whenever this song is played along with Chung Myung and Man Weol’s scenes, especially that part where Man Weol is secretly waiting for him as she lived through different eras, it just never failed to bring tears to my eyes.

8. Backstory can be a stand-alone story itself – what can I say… Obviously I’m really a big fan of Chung Myung and Man Weol. I know, I know, I love Chan Seong, but there’s just that melancholy feeling of attachment about our first loves that we’re somewhat attracted to. Despite everything Man Weol has been through, I’m just hoping that Chung Myung really did loved her despite how tragic their story ended.

Of course there are still numerous ways why we should love and support Hotel Del Luna, I could go on with how amazing the overall story is, the other characters - Sanchez, Kim Seon Bi, Choi Seo Hee, Yeon Woo now Young Su, Mago and even Mira, their star studded cameos - Joon Gi, Sulli, Da Reum, Kim Jun Hyun and many other factors that get us fans hooked to this wonderful drama, but this post is long enough, so for now, I’ll just leave it as it is.

I just finished watching Hotel Del Luna last night!! In order not to feel sad about finishing another kdrama I drew Man Weol~ It would be a shame not to draw such a gorgeous character (I looooved all her outfits!! and IU is my ultimate girl bias lol)
