five things that make me happy (it's a little sad how long it took me to think up this list but we're not going to think about it haha)

1. winters

i love cold weather. i love drowning myself in oversized sweaters and drinking absurd amounts of tea and surrounding myself with warm fairy lights. i love tucking myself in a corner while i read a book and pretend it's snowing outside. i love hot chocolate and warm nutmeg-milk and gooey-cookies. i love the cold biting at my skin while my insides feel warm. i just- love winter.

2. classics

i've love reading. i always have. in the past couple of years my tastes have evolved from YA fiction to victorian/edwardian romance and gothic fiction. i love reading old books. love the dialogue and the world building. i love how simple the plots were and i love how they still have such complex morals. lately, nothing makes me as happy as classic literature and mythology.

3. ice cream

strawberry ice cream. it's superior and i'll fight anyone who says different.

4. writing

i started writing when i was 11. i remember because it was 6th grade and i'd just started at an international school while having zero fluency in the one language all the kids knew- english. i wrote really really terrible cellphone novels with abhorrent grammar and zero plot and yet there were still people on the internet who read it.

i'm 21 now. i speak and write english fluently. i like to think my writing has improved by leaps and bounds since then. i write fanfic i post online and have been working on an original piece of fiction since late 2018. the point is, i've been writing for a decade. that's pretty much half my life. plenty of other interests have come and gone in the mean time but writing has stuck with me like a constant companion. if there is one thing about me that is guaranteed to make me happy, it's writing.

5. poetry

i've only just realized after having compiled this list how much i depend on literature in general to keep me happy. be it reading or writing, words have always found a way to touch my heart better than anything else.

poetry is- pretty. i don't claim to understand it. i don't have the skills to study or dissect it. to me it's just pretty words strung together to make pretty sentences strung together to make pretty verses.

poetry is just pretty. and pretty things make me happy.

anyway, those are five things that make me happy (it took me like over a day to compile this list ohmygod but like i said before, we aren't going to talk about it)

16. if you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d have turned out the same? 

i would argue no and yes, i wouldnt be exactly the same person, but it would depend on the enviroment, and i’d still have similar traits
