theres a rlly common religious saying that when u love something more than your Creator, He will take it away so that you get closer to Him. Allah has done this to me with Interview With The Vampire.

tumblr is only for people who r weird and a bit lonely and had a strange interest when they were 12 that led them here. if none of those apply to you like genuinely what is there for you here

And here come the drugs. Up the fangs, down the throat, into the heart and off to the fingers, feet and wallowing brain!
I love tumblr more than IG bc IG feels like I’m posting looking for a job but on here it’s like I already lost the job and my wife and the house and I’m just sitting on the curb talking to myself
As the dust settles and i can bear to think about this season, it is quite telling that despite the heavily racialized violence enacted towards louis (and the treatment of every single black character on screen), racism as a concept is quite literally never brought up in the narrative. Even the scene where daniel tells louis tv execs weren’t interested in a black man’s voice ("no, we want the white guy") meant nothing: what we originally thought was the foundation for broader racial commentary within the season and a way to question audience reception bias and sidelining of black voices (in line with the scene of the trial and its examination of white-centric fan reception) was just a throwaway line in an unending list of throwaway lines, and feels almost cynical in hindsight. Yeah! We sure know you wanted the white guy; it has been made abundantly clear.
At the end of the day, iwtv will always be remembered as a beautifully written, beautiful researched text interested in the intersections between race, gender and the concept of monstrosity and immortality. TVL will go down as a reactionary tv show that isn’t just apolitical and uninterested by race but is actively and cynically antiblack as well as being fundamentally anti-victim.

suddenly, everyone around me disappears, like the rapture has come
it's just so crazy to me that they had the set up of lestat being this deeply traumatized person who endured so much horrific abuse and then found himself becoming an abuser himself due to his inability to confront and deal w his trauma and being forced to face the fact that he has become a monster to the two people he loves most and then deciding he needs to work through his shit and be better. and the writers threw away all that complexity and nuance to woobify lestat and act like he never did anything wrong. or find ways to make it someone else's fault when the writers acknowledge that he did something awful.
ruminating on the show with tears in my eyes whilst i head to work i feel like someone has died
