About
Mana Village is the last inhabited village of India near the Indo-Tibet (China) border, located just 3 km from Badrinath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Sitting at an altitude of about 3,200 meters (10,500 ft), it is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and the banks of river Saraswati. Declared as a “Tourism Village” by Uttarakhand Government, Mana beautifully blends natural beauty, mythology, and culture.
Mythological Significance
Believed to be the place where the Pandavas took their final journey to heaven (Mahapath).
Vyas Gufa: Sage Ved Vyas is said to have composed the Mahabharata here.
Ganesh Gufa: Associated with Lord Ganesha writing the epic as dictated by Vyas.
Bheem Pul: A natural stone bridge, believed to be placed by Bheem for Draupadi to cross Saraswati river.
