had this one in the inbox for months bc idk man. idk. mando is right there and it's so soft and pleasant and sounds like all the comfort of your best friend forever and not at all like gargling a phlegmy rock and yet people insist on using nortrell. at this point the hope of stopping them is in the same state as lando's alleged title bid.
they've been being sooooooo mando these past few weeks tho. i guess bc lando has needed max and max has always been there for him when he needs that, especially now when the balance being that way round is relatively rare. lando needs home and comfort and max is that, they never moved out of being besties.
like when they lived together we all used to talk about lando's pathological need to look after max and make sure he was dressed in his clothes and sheltered in his house and eating food lando had made for him and wearing shirts he'd ironed for him etc. and now it's lando who's a mess but max's urge to look after him is just as strong. keeping him company even when he's trying to shove it away, making sure he's got his spaghetti bolognese even if max has to play 78 rounds of golf or tarkov to convince him.
when they lived together it seemed like lando was the only person max could accept help from, after everything went to shit for him. couldn't take it from his concerned parents because he thought he'd disappointed them, didn't want to from his other friends but lando was alright somehow because he was asking max to keep him company, too. giving him a little job, even if it was being lando's desperate houseboy for like 5 months.
now it's like lando has the same thing in reverse. he obviously has loads of people around him, he has a trainer and a manager and a team and a sports psychologist and another psychologist and he can't take any comfort from them for whatever reason. probably the same thing, that he feels like he's let down everything they've helped him with which obviously he hasn't but you know how brains are. but he can handle it from max, because technically he's helping max get twitch views.
