Sat here with a few thoughts;
If Mandroid somehow managed to survive that blast, say for example, the healing ray brought him back, I think its entirely possible that he would have a reflective mindset, given his latest and most resource-sapping plan has failed. He would likely be at a loss given the weapon would be used up and he had to die in order to make it work even just once.
Whilst I don’t think he’s redeemable, I do think he’s got anti-hero potential. He was focussed on a perceived threat to humanity. Well, what if he just realised that TF’s are one of many threats to humanity? Imagine what he could accomplish if their power and skill could be used for good?
Imagine he gets ‘recruited’ in a sense, by the Autobot/Decepticon Alliance; He’d still be salty about what happened but if there was a new threat to focus on, I think he’d focus on that even if it meant teaming up with his former enemies. ‘The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one’
I think Mandroid himself would realise that if he’s going to have to exist then he needs something to focus on. Maybe the Sharkticons or Quintessons could pose a bigger threat than the Transformers did. In which case, I think he’d be at the forefront of helping solve that problem.
Imagine the banter though… He’s got their science lab all to himself and every now and then he shows up at meetings, or else people and TF’s come to him with ideas they need help with. Imagine the fun interactions to be had. 👌😂
I think Schloder would never accept him though, not after what happened to Croft. That would be an interesting angle, because there would always be a sense of tension and distrust and constant arguments. I think in the end, Mandroid may even use this as motivation to achieve something actually good this time around, maybe as some sort of an apology.
