Alan Wake 2 Characters that would write and/or read fanfic
Alan: I think he would consciously try to stay away from any fanfic written ever about his books, but he may or may not have peeked into the Casey fandom Once and decided to not interact with this fans ever if he can help it
Alice: I can see her being a fic reader in the past. Occasionally would reread fics she collected in the old days as comfort
Scratch: Would obsessively write and read RPF about Alan. AWAN Scratch would definitely get into flame wars and criticize writers who 'mischaracterize Alan' more so than Rose (may or may not have clashed with Rose's undercover profile on an Alan Wake fan forum)
Zane: I was gonna say, he would've loved fanfic but fanfic has been around for decades so he was definitely around while still alive so, yup, would read and write fanfic. The zesty Zane we see in AW2 specifically would be a mischievous gremlin and create fake accounts to nose around fanfics surrounding his works. Might even sow mistrust and havoc by casually dropping some "Secret Lore" nobody else obviously knows about and watch his fandom erupt in chaos, trying to find out who this mystery account is
Saga: She used to write more fanfic before her FBI work. I can see Saga also write a lot of original works for fun. She still has a fanfic account, sometimes reads fic to keep her mind off some of her cases. Would tease Casey about fanfic about him during long car drives
Casey: doesn't touch fanfic or fandom with a ten foot pole. Especially those cursed Casey books by Alan Wake. Nope, will not get into the books or the surrounding fanbase. Only because of Saga would he be even knowledgable about the existence of fanfic
Rose: Obviously The Main Fangirl. Writes, reads fanfic and has a whole fan Alan Wake fan account. Enough said.
Tim: Writes elaborate D&D scenarios and worldbuilding on the side, so in a way, yes, he writes and reads fanfics. Mainly on those older oldschool forums for D&D and other table top RPGS
Estevez: Would not really be into fanfics, but is fascinated about the lively fandom side of it all. I do imagine her researching out of curiosity and getting accidentally really into a particular niche fandom with like 1 main writer who writes full novel length pieces
Door: Knows better than to write fanfic as a mysterious entity with more powers than a normal human 👀
Anderson brothers: They would tease each other about RPF fic they'd find in the wild or ones that daring, bold fans would sent them every now and then. But outside jokery, they wouldn't be really interested in it. I can imagine Loki being the trickster member to have written some of that RPF fic
Koskela brothers: Ilmo is blissfully ignorant and unaware of fanfic. (Maybe for the best becos u can bet he would try capitalize off of fanfic and using fanfic tropes in his marketing for products) Jaakko, on the other hand, might've discovered some fanfic through his daughter Charline. That talk ended up being so awkward , he never mentioned it again
YY Ilmari: If he knew fanfiction was a Thing, he would've written indulgent, manic fics about himself and Seine and Kesä
Deputies: Mulligan secretly writes self-insert fics and he and Thornton would try to outdo each other in discovering weird fanfics to send each other.
Bookers: Both have dabbled in fanfic writing. Ed, more in non-slash AU territory while Tammy first made some succes publishing fanfic short stories in local writer zine anthologies
Mandy-May: an OG fangirl of the old days. Although she doesn't write much fanfic herself anymore, she is grateful for the door that online fic host sites opened over the years. Still has a Live Journal and Fanfic.net account where she resides if she isn't knitting anything
Norman: Created an ao3 account on recommendation by Mandy-May and has since gone down the rabbit hole of reading historical RPF. Usually, the lore heavy ones and not much of the slash side of it
Vladimir: Actually writes self-indulgent fanfics and is more active on Russian platforms. Will rarely crosspost his work on ao3
Cynthia: She would've handwritten self-ship fics about Thomas Zane.
Steven Lin: Doesn't know what fanfic is and never read them, not even by accident
