“I’M --” matt had been about to take a shower in his office but he was quick to pull his shirt back over his head. his sentence was going to finish with busy but as soon as he saw who it was coming through the door? well, that changed completely. “I’M NEVER TO BUSY FOR YOU.” was that the truth? yes and it always would be. grinning, he moved around his desk to greet her, arms wrapping tightly around her. “excuse the... smell. it’s uh, it’s been a long shift.” never ending was a better word but that was alright, he didn’t complain about work. he loved it far too much to ever to do that. “you don’t know how happy i am to see your face right now. “MATT? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?” as soon as she saw him, angie panicked right away, frowning a little bit, because.. no, she didn’t know just what the fuck was going on. was it edgar? had it been him? because if it had been and if he had hurt matt - well, she was about to make sure the entire police force rained down on that asshole and that he and his entire family were locked up before the day was over. those. fucking. assholes. kneeling down in front of him, angie placed a hand on his face, hoping that would make him look at her. she had missed him desperately - this time where he was away at the farm was terrible and yes.. right now, perhaps so was she. perhaps, so was she for having been the one who had the idea of making him go undercover and right now.. what was she supposed to do? tell him to stop it? as of now, she didn’t believe that she could. not at this point of the GAME. “edgar’s tugs, i’m guessing? for fuck’s sake. come on. i’m taking you to the hospital.”

ALL ROADS HAD LED HIM HERE. at first, he had been so drunk that he hadn’t even know where he was. he should have recognized it and the moment his head had stopped spinning, the moment he began to give himself the chance to sober up. he knew exactly where he was, he would always know this place and of course, the reason his legs had betrayed him by bringing him here. matt didn’t know how long he’d been up there for, back pressed up against the wall whilst he sat on the floor and tried to fight the memories that kept flooding back to him of this place. of course, he had never forgotten but it was as if they were making a point of having him remember it all now. matt didn’t know how long he’d been sat up there for, long enough for him to more or less sober up completely or at least enough to know he couldn’t be here. he needed to remain hidden for both his and will’s sake. matt had been standing up to leave when the rooftop door swung open. he didn’t have to look to know it was her, he knew. god, he could have crumbled at her feet but the anger and the hurt he felt for what she had done kept him standing. “ANG...” there was so much he wanted to say but he didn’t know how to. @bcssbitchs​

MATT COULDN’T LISTEN TO IT AGAIN TONIGHT. was this how people were supposed to let each other go? because to him it looked like they were doing anything just to spend time together. right now, that thing they were doing was arguing and going around in circles about the same thing repeatedly. USUALLY, HE STARTED IT but for once he was in a reasonably decent mood tonight. aria was about to start to get her componence and angie was giving him a perfect alibi for the night she went missing. what wasn’t there to be happy about? oh, wait… this pointless conversation. matt would have walked away for the night, he would have given her this one which wasn’t like him. HOWEVER, HE COULDN’T. when aria went missing, the first person everyone was going to look at was him so he needed to be stay with angie. that was the plan, he was sticking with it. “ang, i’m doing us a favor and shutting us both up.” with that, he pulled her into him, bringing his lips crashing down against hers when he did. @bcssbitchs​

“THEN THAT SETTLES IT.” he paused only briefly. “WILL YOU MARRY ME TOMORROW?” matt had no doubts in his mind when it came to angie garza being the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. she had ALWAYS been the person she wanted to share his life with and that was NEVER going to change for him. he hadn’t pushed the marriage topic since they had discussed it previously because he didn’t want her to feel like he was RUSHING her into anything. it was a big deal, he knew that and if she needed TIME then he was happy to give her that. he had waited this long, he knew he could wait this little bit longer till she was definitely ready to do this. “because you know ang -- i would marry you THIS second if i could?” @bcssbitchs​

NOW SHE KNEW HOW IT FELT. he regretted the thought as soon as it sunk into his head but he had been living in HELL for… months and months before he met nic. NO ONE had cared and he wouldn’t believe it if they told them that they did because people who cared didn’t act like they did. IT WAS TRUE and he wasn’t even sure why he kept letting himself get sucked back into her world when she and EVERYONE else in it made it crystal clear there wasn’t room for him to be a part of it. that’s all he’d wanted... a part and that had been too much so yeah, he was DONE. he couldn’t be more done and the only reason he still spoke with her was because he HATED how it still made him feel. yes -- the two of them had to end, yes -- he wanted that end now but he didn’t like HOW it had happened. then again, he wasn’t the one who chose that ending for them. was he? so there was absolutely NOTHING he could do about it. “and for once i’m not but i’m going to be if will suspects even the slightest thing is going on here.” IT WASN’T but it also wasn’t worth the risk of anything happening to nic either. “angie. you told me yourself you wanted me out of the way --” she’d said it or something along those lines. “you got what you wanted. why do you keep coming back?” @bcssbitchs​

HE WAS WORRIED ABOUT HER. he was worried about faye, he was worried about what will had told him and he was worried about them and what all this meant. IT WAS EASIER TO SAY THAT HE WAS WORRIED ABOUT EVERYTHING. it was why he hadn’t really slept since they had found out about faye’s relationship with will – whatever it was, the fact she had one with him at all was HORRIFYING at this point. matt waited till he knew she was asleep until he sat up, flicking his through his phone, trying to distract himself from what was going on. it was ONLY a couple of hours in that he stopped what he was doing and started to watch over her as she slept. it made him feel as close to PEACE as he could be right now which was why he couldn’t seem to pull his eyes away. at least she was resting, even if it was just for a few hours. “I KNOW YOU’RE AWAKE.” he spoke up finally, letting his head rest on the back board of the bed as he placed a gentle hand on her arm. “for the record you were the one who said it was a ROMANTIC gesture.” regarding him watching her whilst she sleep, a tired smile filling his features. @bcssbitchs​

“i must admit it, i would marry you in an instant.”

“I’M RELIEVED TO HEAR YOU STILL WANT TO DO THAT.” matt didn’t doubt how she felt in the slightest but with how rough things had been he was worried that she might not want the wedding any more. it would have been UNDERSTANDABLE but he still couldn’t hide his relief that she had just admitted she wanted to marry him as much as he still wanted the SAME with her. “if you still want a wedding? one hell of a wedding is what you’re going to get. I PROMISE.” matt would have taken her to getting married in that instant but he also knew that how important it was to have the people they LOVE be there with them. if they were to do this right then they would be missing one very important person and that was FAYE. would they fix this? would it get better? he couldn’t say for sure but he hoped so... he’d do EVERYTHING he could to get faye back where she belonged. that was with her family, her mother and the people who actually CARED about her. “it might not be THIS instant but as long as you still want this ang? it’s going to happen.” @bcssbitchs​
