The next S$21 cake I pre-ordered at BreadTalk (面包物语) is this 6 inch Mangococo (usual price S$40.80) which takes on a totally different appearance than the one I had previously. At the top, cubes of mango 🥭 jelly and discs of orange coloured white chocolate vied with dollops of whipped cream and orange starburst fresh cream for the attention.
On the inside of the cake, three layers of light orange chiffon sandwiching a layer each of fresh mango pineapple coulis and mango & coconut mousse with mango jelly. The citrus burst of fruity sweet mango and tangy pineapple was the first to hit the taste buds followed by the textured pieces of pineapple flesh. As for the mousse, only the mango part came through while the coconut flavour is non-existence. If you asked me which of the two Mangococo cakes 🎂 I like best, my vote goes to this one from the earlier buy. It has less of the cream and more of that fruity punch that I enjoyed plus that glossy jellied finishing with desiccated coconut look good too.
