The Mr Robot timeline got me so fucked up! I think all the stuff with Ray is what landed him in prison maybe? Because Elliot says the place is already surrounded when he leaves so maybe he didn't get away? It's just told out of order? I DONT KNOW. dis show man
The Mr. Robot timeline has me so fucked up, you have no idea. There’s a TON of fishy dates, plus references to parallel universes.... but that’s a story for another day, haha.
As far as the whole prison thing, I think that that everything we saw was more or less chronological (though not necessarily *exactly* chronological with the other character’s storylines). I think that Elliot is is prison for hacking Krista’s ex (Lenny aka Michael Hansen). There was a scene with him and Krista at the beginning of the season one finale about this. I remember watching that episode initially and thinking, why were they wasting the first ten minutes of the finale on Michael Hansen? Who cares about him? This must be important. That, coupled with the fact that Elliot no longer has Flipper, makes me think that that’s the reason he’s in prison.
I think that all of the stuff that happened with Elliot/Ray actually happened in prison. My current understanding is that it all happened, just in a different context, though obviously I’m not 100% sure how “different” things were from what Elliot “showed” us. When Elliot says the place is already surrounded, he leaves but he doesn’t “get away” (and it doesn’t really look like he’s even trying that hard to “get away”). He just walks outside the house, and then some guy in a suit says “Stay right here and don’t move.” To me, it seems plausible that this could happen in prison, particularly because he didn’t actually “get away”. It is suspicious though, I’m having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around the specifics of how everything we’ve seen so far has actually happened.
ALSO another thing that is potentially suspicious about the prison timeline is that I’m not sure how much time passed during episode 7. It seemed (to me, at least), that it would have happened over the span of ~a week. However, all of the wounds on Elliot’s face have healed by that scene with the church group, and earlier in the episode, like when Elliot exposes Ray’s site, his face is still all beat up. Not sure what’s going on there... Maybe it’s a production error? Or more time has passed than I think? Who knows.
So yeah, this is what I think at the present. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I’ve been anti-prison theory this whole time and LOOK what happened... lol
