Ikan pari manta (Manta birostris) adalah salah satu spesies ikan pari terbesar di dunia. Lebar tubuhnya dari ujung sirip dada ke ujung sirip lainnya mencapai hampir 6-8 meter (kemungkinan lebih karena ada laporan yang mengatakan bahwa ada manta yang lebar tubuhnya mencapai 9,1 meter). Bobot terberat manta sendiri yang pernah diukur mencapai sekitar 3 ton. Pari manta juga bukan merupakan pari yang beracun, ekornya tidak mempunyai sengat seperti kebanyakan ikan pari lainnya. Kulit manta diselubungi lapisan lendir yang jauh lebih tebal dibandingkan ikan pari kebanyakan. Lapisan lendir ini diduga ada hubungannya untuk melindungi kulitnya yang rentan.
