this makes sense!! the urge to fictionalize events of real, intense suffering, *while they’re fucking happening*, implies just… a profound inability to connect to the people involved. like the writer can only feel sad if they apply the circumstances to some character they’ve developed an attachment to, instead of. just. using empathy?? i don’t even know
YES!! that’s exactly it!!!
like they say they were upset and they did all these things to help the movement but then you go and write this?? for what??
and if I have to hear ‘they wrote it to cope’ I’ll throw up. like, oh, you need to cope...you need the coping mechanism right now. okay! sure!
